Tuah heaved a sigh, hands on his hip as he looked at the many sweets and leftover cake that Carleigha had brought over. How she expected him to finish them all by himself was beyond him. He wasn’t one to celebrate his own birthday, and she knew this, so he had never told anyone about his birthday since he didn’t want anyone to throw a party for him. He certainly wasn’t planning to throw one himself, and Carleigha knew this. Hence the present and cake and far too many baked goods.
He carefully cut the cake into smaller pieces and packed the baked goods, and started to make rounds around his neighbourhood, offering them the baked goods. He received their well wishes with a polite smile, telling them that he hoped that they’d enjoy the baked goods before making his way. Tuah knocked on Olivia’s house, the last baked goods in his hand. “I hope you’re in the mood for birthday cake,” he said by way of greeting, a warm smile on his lips.
