I can't understand Olivia. You would think that after years of being in the same spaces that I'd come to figure out how & why she acts the way she does, but I'm still confused. -- I'm unhappy with me. My body will never be perfect & no amount of money or power will ever make me satisfied.. And here she is. Just a simply detective from nowhere, with basic money & a 'natural' body & friends &... She just seems so happy & content with herself. I have everything she has & more, but yet SHE is the one who's happy. I hate her. I hate her so much. It's not fair.

After a long third night shift Violet wanted nothing more to curl up with August, forcing him to stay in bed with her as she slept and he read. It was an arrangement that worked spectacularly for her and she didn’t want it to change. He was so good to her and she was selfish enough to take full advantage of it. So she already was pulling out her copy of his key pulling her hair into a messy bun cracking her neck and pulling off her work jacket. Opening his door she was a little surprised not to see him in bed since to her it was still early enough that he would just be getting ready for the day. Either way she tossed her jacket to his desk and was about to pull off her boots. “Babe?” She called out sitting down on the bed reaching down to her feet when her eyes caught the note on the nightstand and her lips quirked into a smile as she thought he left her something to tell her where he was. Leaning over too lazy to get up she grunted and groaned trying to get it without moving grabbing it with the tips of her fingers cheering in slight joy until she lost her balance and fell to the ground. “fuckkkkk.” She groaned before laughing. Another embarrassing story to tell August. Lifting her hand Violet’s eyes scanned the note growing increasingly worried. I didn’t write this.

Only a few words registered to Violet. Surprise. Kitchen. Love Violet. It didn’t take long till Violet was scrambling up and bolting out of the room not even remembering to lock the door the only sound in the hallway the door slamming shut.  Pulling out her phone she hit her speed dial calling and calling, swearing and swearing as she received no answer. Knowing he knew enough about how to pick up a fucking phone. And her heart started to race and she panicked.

It was like the run didn’t take long at all the next thing Violet knew she was in the kitchen and there was nothing. Nothing. And Violet didn’t know what to do. She knew she was right to worry she always trusted her instincts and she would be so foolish not to. She was the head guard here for a reason. She knew how to protect people. Pulling her phone out again Violet changed tactics calling another number.

“Olivia I need your help.”

“My boyfriend, there was a note acting like it was from me and it wasn’t and it told him to meet in the kitchen and I know something is wrong. They tried their hardest to mimic my writing too. I know something is wrong.”

“I’m in the kitchen.”

“Nothing. Everything. Is the same.”

“No nothing.”

“A chair? It’s not in place.”

“I’m trying goddamn it…. sorry.”

“The draw for utensils is open a crack…. The spice stand looks like it’s moved.”

“The Cellar! Oh my god Olivia, you’re right.”

“Okay okay…. Thanks, Get Dash and get here soon.”

Hanging up quickly Violet did exactly as Olivia told her calling August again but this time not listening to her phone but walking quietly to the cellar door and opening it. The moment it was open a crack she could hear the ringing and she shut off her phone. Using her powers she disappeared slipping down in to the room walking slowly though her heart raced and begged for her to run into the room with her gun drawn. She didn’t know what to expect and she needed to play to her strengths. Tip toeing in Violet glanced around her eyes immediately drawn to the boy on the ground. Bleeding. Tied up. Bag over his head and her heart stopped.

Her head spun and she stepped forward slowly expecting nothing. Almost praying it wasn’t August. That she stumbled onto someone else and was going to try to save their life. She was barely paying attention to her surroundings like this and she dropped to her knees pulling the hood off with clumsy hands and a sob reached her chest.

It when then like someone else took over. She was no longer Violet she was Invisagirl. Checking his pulse Violet channeled her racing heart into moving and working faster. “You’re going to live Gus. You’re not dying on me I swear to fucking god you’re not dying on me.” Seeing his ruined shirt on the ground she untied his wrists and wrapped cloth around it to stop any bleeding there. Then she tied something around his arm and not knowing what was going on she placed pressure on his chest trying to stop the bleeding and it was only then that she was starting to be Violet again and tears were streaming down her face as she propped his head onto her leg. Dash, Olivia get here soon. Please. She mentally begged holding him as close to her as possible. “Please August don’t stop fighting. Don’t give up. I need you. I can’t lose you.” She whispered leaning her forehead on his tears slipping down her cheeks and onto his eye lids and down his cheeks. “I love you. Please August.” She begged softly slow memories flashing in her mind of her own attack. And what had actually happened. She could remember Gus’ hands on her. Praying and clutching her to him.

Oh god please work.

She sang softly hoping it would awaken something in August. His own powers to heal himself but it was like her heart shattered as nothing happened but cold tears falling on his face. “I can’t lose you.” She whimpered holding him tightly before footsteps rushed in and she looked up with blood stained clothes and a tear stained face.

“Dash.... help.”
