In 2010, Oly Ralfe talked to the Velvet Onion about how he met Julian and Noel. He appears in many Boosh eps and directed "Journey of The Child Men"!
Oly: “I first met them at the Hen and Chickens pub theatre in London where they used to play on Monday nights. I was slightly apprehensive of Julian but he bought me a pint so things were ok from then. Noel thought I was the ghost of Syd Barratt.”
In 2008, Oly Ralfe explained to Metro UK how he ended up appearing on the show (and directing “Journey of the Childmen”!)
Oly Ralfe: “I kept bumping into Julian and Noel around London, and one evening I spotted them at one of my gigs. It all came about quite naturally, although watching the show you’d probably think I got beamed in from some far-off planet like the rest of their characters.”

Very special show in Oxford, Fri 20 Apr 2018
In celebration of the release of his instrumental piano album Notes From Another Sea, Oly Ralfe will be performing the album accompanied by a classical ensemble. This unique concert is taking place in the historic setting of the Holywell Music Room in Oxford, Europe's oldest custom-built concert hall. The Holywell Music Room first opened its doors in 1748, and is situated on Holywell Street in the city centre. Oly has been chosen as the first artist for The Holywell Sessions, a series of unique concerts where bands and solo artists are accompanied by a classical ensemble. Oly is working alongside composer and arranger Luke Lewis to come up with new arrangements of the album for this special one-off performance. Support is from Jess Hall.
