Japan qualified a team to the Olympics 2018!
And I really do not know how to feel about it?!
It is both: amazing to see Japanese skaters two times and also to see Japan act as a team. But also I am a bit worried that it will be too exausting for those who have to compete later at the "real" Olympics. (And I don't see Japan pulling their top single skaters out of this event) and really Japan does not stand a chance for the podium at the team event, so who cares?
It would have been easier if Japan would not have qualified. But now this is just like it is...
Imo who really cares for the team event any way???
(Info: Japan earns a spot because of Kana Muramoto and Chris Reed's placement in Ice Dance at Nebelhorn Trophy 2017. Although the Pairs have not qualified at Nebelhorn, they will be allowed to compete at the Olympics for the Team Event.)
It is not yet official news what teams qualified, but according to IOC rules this is true.
