omaedamareyo replied to your post:Puppy!
And on that day, Mareyo named that puppy Tet-Tet.
REALLY CUTE
Puppy!
Iba wandered around aimlessly, holding a large box with a small pup inside. The little guy had been found during his patrol of the Rukongai. It was beaten, bruised, and alone. Taicho was sympathetic for the creature, but he informed Iba that he was unable to care for it as his busy schedule did not permit him to give the dog the love and care it required. Iba kept it long enough for it to recover from its injuries, then realized he was just as busy as Taicho. However, Komamura demanded that Iba find a loving home for the puppy. If not, the consquences would be dire.
He spent the whole day searching. Nobody seemed to want it, no matter who he spoke to. He sighed.
"Excuse me, mister!" came the voice of a small girl tugging on Iba's uniform. "Will you play with me? Nobody else will..."
Iba looked down to see Mareyo Omaeda, the youngest of the Omaeda family, and somehow not resembling Marechiyo's ugly mug in the slightest.
"I'm real sorry, kiddo," Iba said. "I'd love to, but I'm real busy right now. Gotta find a home for this little guy." The puppy popped his head up out of the box and barked happily at the girl.
Mareyo gasped in excitement. "Oh my gosh, is that a puppy?? He's sooooooo cute! Can I pet him?"
"Sure thing, kiddo!" Iba said happily, and placed the box down on the ground so the puppy could jump out. It ran over and Mareyo petted it as it licked her face. Suddenly, a thought occurred.
"Hey, kid. I got a proposition fer ya," Iba said. "Whaddya say I let ya keep this little guy? That way, you have someone to play with, and he's got a home with someone who will take real good care o'him."
"Really?!" Mareyo bounced excitedly. "I'd love to keep him! Thank you so much, mister! What's your name?"
"Me? I'm Tetsuzaemon," Iba answered.
"Ok, I'm gonna name him after you! Come on, Tetsuzaemon! Let's go see your new home!" Mareyo chirped.
She ran home, the puppy following happily. Iba smiled.
"How the hell is she related to someone like Marechiyo?"
"Hah?! You mean it?!" She cheered with wide, pale eyes, the size of her joyful mouth larger than could be imagined at most times. There was a flounce of excitement in her step, clapping her hands together as she tugged onto her elder brother’s drooping sleeve. "Can I get a really big cone? With sprinkles and hot fudge?"
---- Marechiyo would nod after Mareyo asked if his offer was still up for grabs. A gentle grin crossed his face as he brushed her hair under his large chubby hands, how cute. He loved to see her happy like this, but didn't ever big brother love to see their little sister happy? It was something about little sisters, something nice. The shinigami would reach his hands to his sister's sides and lift her off the ground, he'd then pick her up and sit her on his shoulder, holding onto her hands to make sure she didn't fall nearly seven feet down. " Hahaha! Of course you can! I might second on that...... sprinkles and hot fudge....Yum..... you've got good tastes Mareyo! "
Getting back from a mission was either troubling to the redhead or it was the greatest. Despite that there was usually some paperwork waiting for him (plus what would be needed for this last mission) there were times when said paperwork was little so he had some time to relax before submitting his report.
One would think that the material world would allow him some form of freedom from his normal duties but that wasn't the case. He found it almost as stressful as being back in the Seireite. Namely for the place that he lodged at while there. Urahara sure knew how to make a man feel guilty for simply sleeping. He was always roped into doing chores for said man and the little devils that lived with him.
That aside, this was one of those times that coming back allowed him a short moment of freedom. To actually sit and relax before diving into the awaiting ink stains that would find place on his hands as he hunched over a desk for hours. Currently, he was simply sitting out back the barracks, enjoying the silence that came with it. Unlike the eleventh division, things around the sixth got to be pretty quiet and while Renji missed the noise on occasion, he liked the way things were around here.
"...?"
He'd only been sitting for a couple moments before he heard footsteps, glancing up at whomever it was from his sitting position. Partly curiosity and the wonder if said person had come for him. Maybe he should have submitted that report before taking a break.
