Art of Armageddon AU!Satan by the very talented @luyo-mi!
Armageddon: What Is This AU?
The Armageddon AU is an apocalyptic alternate timeline of Obey Me in which the exchange program was never created. This page is dedicated to all the juicy details of this AU that people (mostly me) cook up in our free time. Any and all contributions, whether it be headcanons, further lore development, speculation, art, or fanfiction, are wholeheartedly welcomed.
Be aware that this AU, by nature, is extremely dark and contains disturbing subject matter that may not be suitable to everyone. No punches are pulled here; this is an apocalypse.

Lore IV - Hell Frozen Over
Lore V - Power-Sick
Lore VI - The Move to the Human World
Epilogue:
Lore VII - The Rise of Rebellion

How to Contribute to the AU

“Father will say I rebelled because I hate the Celestial Realm. That isn’t true. I rebelled because I love the Celestial Realm. I rebelled because I love my fellow angels, and because I believe they all deserve better.”
-Simeon
Character File: Michael
Despite having not made an official appearance in canon yet, Michael has quite the role in this AU. I dare say his story in this AU is one of the most disturbing and tragic.
Michael suffers from power sickness, but his struggles don’t end there.
Michael is the most powerful Archangel and leader of the Celestial Realm’s legions, making him Father’s most powerful weapon of war. However, as we have seen thus far, the Celestial Realm isn’t satisfied with the power it has and is seeking more. As such, Michael wasn’t enough. He needed to be improved. Upgraded.
In his attempts to turn Michael into the perfect supersoldier, Father created an abomination. Michael’s form was warped into what could be compared to the most terrifying of the biblical angels. Two golden rings of eyes circled around his head, replacing the now nonexistent eyes on his completely smoothed-over face. More eyes peered out from between the feathers of his four wings, wings that were now permanently set ablaze. Smaller golden rings of eyes encircled his hands and ankles like shackles, and he has four arms instead of two. There are also disembodied eyes floating all around him, which he can move at will, using them almost like camera drones. Despite his mouth being smoothed over with skin like the rest of his face, Michael can still somehow speak, in an echoey and ethereal voice that brings chills to those who listen, a feeling that they are hearing something they shouldn’t. But no, Michael can’t eat, which as you could imagine is absolutely devastating to someone like him.
This scene is why I headcanon that Solomon and Michael are familiar with each other and have worked with each other. If Michael had his eyes on Solomon long before the Great Celestial War, then I find it hard to believe he didn’t reach out at all over all these centuries.
Solomon and Michael being occasional work acquaintances will become important to this AU later.
Character File: Diavolo
Unlike the brothers, Diavolo was never sent to war. As his father is extremely protective of him, Diavolo was forbidden from going to war. He was essentially locked in the Demon Lord’s Castle.
While Diavolo’s father viewed the eradication of the angels as the best way to protect his son, it only made Diavolo grow ill from power-sickness. Though he hid his ailment from Lucifer and the brothers to avoid worrying them, his magic was eating him from the inside out.
This timeline’s Diavolo still strongly believes in creating a respect between the realms, but unfortunately he is completely eclipsed by his father, the sitting ruler. With the overbearing presence of his father, Diavolo’s lack of political power compared to his canon self, and his ailment weakening him, Diavolo is unable to be anywhere near as assertive about his dreams as he was in canon. He tends to be more meek, shy, and humble about his beliefs, only sharing them with those he truly trusts and only on rare occasion.
However, as the state of the Devildom grew worse and worse, and his own condition grew more and more unstable, Diavolo realized he couldn’t ignore his father’s doings forever. He was tired of hurting every second of every day, he was tired of being cooped up in the castle like a prisoner and seeing only impenetrable blackness. He was tired of wondering if his subjects were okay, of wondering whether the brothers were okay.
Lore IX - Rebuilding the World
<------- (Lore VIII)-------«
Though the times after the war were harsh, they eventually settled down. Everyone on all sides was terrified of starting another war after what they had just been through, and most were too weak and weary to fight hard.
The Reformists’ ideas began to fade out as shocking incidents arose. The demon Reformists were devastated as an expedition to the Devildom led by Reformist leader Mephistopheles turned for the worst, with only Mephistopheles and Belphegor returning alive. The angels began to question what had become of them after political leaders Simeon and Raphael got into a physical altercation over their beliefs that severely wounded Simeon. Eventually, the Reformists begrudgingly conceded to the Cohabitionalists. The humans agreed to house the angels and demons, as long as they pulled their weight and helped repair the damage they had done. Slowly, together, the races began to rebuild the Human World, from the ground up.
The world was rebuilt with all three races in mind- the angels, the demons, and of course, the humans. The angels and demons’ magic came in handy for making effective use of space and resources, as well as bringing some aspects from the other two realms into the Human World. Celestial magic was used to create floating islands in the sky above the earth, which would become home to most of the angel refugees. Cave systems were expanded and modified to house the demons, who were used to living in low light. Though each race had their primary locations- the angels on the floating islands, the demons in the caves and the humans on the surface- they were all very much in contact with each other. It was certainly not unheard of for a human to live in the Celestial Isles, or a demon to live in a human city. There was much cultural diffusion between the three groups, mostly thanks to their comradery built up over the war as well as the consistent exchange of resources between the groups while they were rebuilding.
Michael officially announced his retirement soon after the arrangement to move to the Human World was settled. Everyone saw it coming- what had been done to Michael left him emotionally exhausted and mentally broken, and as such he had been unwilling to lead for quite some time. Even though Michael had been returned to normal physically, he still wasn’t mentally ready to lead again. Raphael fully supported Michael’s decision and ended up following suit, giving his endorsement to Simeon to lead the angels into a new era. The two of them now share a home in the Celestial Isles, relaxing peacefully and attempting to recover from what they had experienced. Simeon ended up being the main representative of the Celestial Realm in the World Council.
The World Council is a gathering of representatives from all three realms. Its goal is to oversee the rebuilding of the realm and cohabitation between the races, and make decisions to move these processes further along. Simeon is the head of the council and also one of the angel representatives. Diavolo and Lucifer are demon representatives on the council, and Solomon is one of the human representatives. Raphael would eventually return from his retirement to be a representative of the Celestial Realm, having realized that his usually-busy life felt empty without having work to do (and that living with Michael was driving him cuckoo and he needed some time out of the house.)
Under the council, great progress was made to bring the races together and rebuild what had been destroyed. For the first time in ages, a bright future was ahead.
Character File: Solomon
Solomon, along with Michael, was one of the first to realize the signs of impending doom. Solomon was able to detect the concerning increase in magic throughout the Devildom and the Celestial Realm, and the imbalance this created. With his knowledge of magic, he was able to predict from the magic he sensed that the Celestial Realm and the Devildom were in trouble. Such a disturbance in the magic balance wasn’t safe for anyone.
As such, Solomon reached out to check up on things and figure out what was going on. The first person he contacted was Michael. He and Michael had been familiar with each other since before the Great Celestial War, and had taken up a sort of work partnership over the past several centuries leading up to the Armageddon. As such, Solomon was extremely surprised when he got no response from Michael after reaching out. Now even more concerned by Michael’s silence, Solomon reached out to other angels to try to get an idea of what was going on in the Celestial Realm. They, too, gave no useful responses. The Devildom wasn’t cooperative, either. Many of the demons Solomon had pacts with perished in the early stages of the Armageddon, leaving him with few sources of intel.
Much like during the magic crisis in Season 2 of canon, Solomon worked tirelessly to get to the bottom of this and fix it. The more he researched, however, the more dire the situation seemed to get.
Eventually, Thirteen, having her own reasons to be worried about the Armageddon, reached out to Solomon for answers, only to find a very weary Solomon in a borderline panic pacing around his estate. The two frenemies agreed to team up and search for answers together.
