#OMGnews #NowTrending Man Kills 11yr Old Nephew Showing Off Laser Site
Via WNEP An 10-year-old boy died after being shot in the head by his uncle, according to state police in Pike County.
Chad Olm, 34, was arrested and locked up on a charge of homicide.
According to state police, the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in Wild Acres development near Dingmans Ferry.
Hunter Pedersen was at a family gathering that included Olm, who was his uncle, as well as Olm’s own son.
Prosecutors say Olm was showing the boys his gun collection, which included a Glock 27 with a laser sight on it.
According to court papers, Olm was showing the pistol to the boys and pointed the laser on the ceiling and walls.
He then allegedly pointed the laser at his nephew’s forehead. Investigators believe Pedersen may have reached for the pistol before Olm pulled the trigger.
Lt. Christopher Paris of the Pennsylvania State Police said the crime scene was emotional and challenging for the officers who responded.
“There is nothing you can say that would make the situation better. They have lost something that is irreplaceable. You certainly try to express your condolences and let them know thoughts and prayers go out to them.”
Paris says that Pedersen was fifth-grader in the Wallenpaupack Area School District, and that the school is making provisions for grief counseling for students on Monday.
Olm could not post bail after his arraignment. He is behind bars in Pike County.

#OMGnews Get Ready To Gasp! Man Hurls Baby During Fight
Via Gawker Security footage from a shop in Huainan, China shows a man picking up a 12-month-old baby and flinging it into the air in the midst of what appears to have been a fight with the shopkeeper.
According to the original poster on Chinese video sharing site 56.com, who claims to be the baby's cousin, police didn't detain the man who threw the child, and he's still at large.
The baby lived, but sustained serious injuries and is now under observation at a hospital.
A similar incident occurred last year in Beijing, where a man fighting over a parking space threw a pram containing a 2-year-old. In that case, the child died. Although the attacker argued he thought the pram was a shopping cart, he was sentenced to death last September.

#NowTrending That A Whole Bunch Of Solar Power! Worlds Largest Solar Power Panel Plant Now Open
Via Geobeat News The 'world's largest solar-panel power plant' is now up and running in Arizona. Situated on 2,400 acres between Yuma and Phoenix, the 290-megawatt plant will be sending electricity to the state of California for the next two and a half decades.
Under the 25 year long contract with Pacific Gas & Electric, Arizona's new photovoltaic power plant will be responsible for providing power to at least 100,000 homes in the neighboring state. If you're going by maximum electricity production, the Agua Caliente plant will generate enough power to supply 230,000 residences. The $1.8 billion facility is owned by NRG Energy, Inc. and MidAmerican Renewables, LLC. Chief financial officer at MidAmerican Renewables, Richard Weech commented 'It is exciting to see this project become fully operational and begin to realise the full benefit of emissions savings with the clean energy generated at Agua Caliente.' With well over 5 million photovoltaic modules scattered over roughly 10 square miles, there is a good reason why so many people are excited about the plant dedicated to clean energy.
