Check Please POC Zine?

I've been thinking a lot lately about how the COCs (Characters of Color) in Check, Please! don’t get nearly enough fic dedicated to them as MCs (and it’s even more rare to find gen fic about them). So I was wondering what y’all think about me organizing a zine dedicated to these characters? 

Priority would be on promoting creators of color but anyone who wants to participate would be welcomed.  

Art would def be welcomed too! (there’s always room for more)

We need more Ransom fics

Yes, hello there. There seems to be a deficit of Ransom-centric* fics in the world. So to remedy this here are few things I’d like to offer: 

if you currently have a Ransom-centric fic out there in the world, send me a link! I will squee about your brilliance and promote your fic on this blog (and make sure it gets seen by some other cool blogs who will pass it on too. Free publicity for your awesome fic!) 

if you are currently working on/have and idea for/are interested in making a Ransom centric fic, hurray! You’re awesome and I want to support you in your endeavor! I can do so with the following:

cheer-reading 

personalized fic playlists (including cover art) 

fic covers!  

and you can ask for as many of these as you’d like! just DM me and we can work out specifics. Feel free to reblog this post btw. 

*note: Ransom-centric entails Ransom is the (or one of the) MC(s) of your fic. Meaning he has his own plot, character study/development, conflicts, and desires. I mainly want to point this out because there’s plenty of fics out there featuring Ransom that don’t delve into his character much.

listen 2 me… derek malik nurse totally has a problem with articulating his thoughts out loud. like thats why hes not a good communicator. hes like “yo bro its chill” bc he doesnt know how to tell ppl about the things he feels. even his poems r really just surface emotions and thats his biggest critique from professors and shit… like his work always lacks depth especially in the emotional development in narrators/characters that are close to nursey himself… my boi tries so hard to get close to people but hes so self sabotaging… he gets to a point where he just shuts down and wont let people in… and like really, the only person who can understand him is chowder! because they both have problems with saying how they really feel and have similar defense mechanisms. so like when chowder feels nursey pushing him away, he tells nursey abt it, asks why, and nursey finds he doesnt even know when he’s doing it it just happens an basically he and chowder have such a healthy friendship wow !!! anyways my handsome son has many issues but we all love him anyways
