Losing Points SAT vs ACT

Incorrect answers are calculated differently on the SAT in comparison to our regular tests. In the multiple choice section only 1/4 of an incorrect multiple choice is marked. In the math section 0 points are subtracted for incorrect student-produced response. If you chose not to answer a question on any section it is omitted from the scoring process. 

In the ACT incorrect answers are not counted as wrong on the ACT. This means that it is better to guess on the ACT if you are not sure of the answer, you wont be counted wrong!

Score Quality

We have researched information about how the SAT and ACT are scored. The average SAT score is 1500 while the average ACT score is 20-21. The quality of your scores depends on the college you're thinking about applying to. Your scores could be considered average at one school, but below average at another. If you get low scores the first time, you can always improve them. If you have taken the SAT during your sophomore year in high school and received low scores, you have two more chances to improve. If you've taken it during your junior year in high school, you have one more chance to improve your scores.
