I can't believe I forgot to post these! Based on a long-held personal headcanon of mine that Dr Carmilla did not have the sufficient materials or time to recreate Drumbot Brian's original body when she first made him, and so...she got creative. Redesign Ver 1 is still kept on the Aurora, in case anything happens to Brian's current preferred form and he needs something to move around in temporarily, but he's fairly diligent about repairs and maintenance so most of the times the octokittens just use it play in.
[ID: A sketchbook spread done entirely in black ink, mimicking mechanical blueprints. The blueprints show several stages of desiging Drumbot Brian of the Mechanisms. The top right hand corner show two pictures of Brian pre-mechanisation, from the neck up. He is a white man with curly shoulder length hair, short beard, and neutral expression. He is wearing a top hat with steampunk googles. The sketches are labelled "org ver fig 1a" and "org ver fig 1b". Underneath this is a sketch of a cartoonish steampunk robot labeled "redesign ver 1 fig 1a". This form is labelled as being 2ft tall, and has wheels, a round head with simple features, and flexible exteding arms and legs. The body is painted to look like a waistcoat and has hinges at the sides, indicating that it can be opened. In the drawing, this form of Brian is wearing his top hat and holding aloft a drumstick in each hand. Off this drawing is a box labelled "redesign ver 1 fig 2a" which shows the inside of the body, containing Brian's human heart and several mechanical components. On the oppose page is a full length illustration of Drumbot Brian labelled "redesign ver 2". He is a mechanical man with curly shoulder length hair, wearing trousers, untucked shirt woth the sleeves rolled up, a waistcoat, and the same hat as was seen in all previous images. The latter three images show close ups of various parts of the full spread.
