Having the right #tourniquet for the #environment you find yourself is crucial. Traditional #windlass #tourniquets use inappropriate materials for #marine and #maritime environments. When it comes to tourniquets and #firstaid don’t just go with the #flow be #smart and find the right #tq for where you’re at; the #beach means you need #omna Tourniquet or omna #surfleash #legrope #firstaidkit not a #cattourniquet #surfing #beach #paddleboarding #dive #ddey #shark #propellerhead #fins #padi #freedive #capecod #chatham #massachusetts #surfsurvival #boat 🧜🏻♀️ @yasminsarte (at Saint Petersburg, Florida)
I was doing some pose practice earlier and I got really into it. Since I needed more experience with different body types as well as showcasing character through poses I thought I’d go and clean up an old sketch I did of my characters from my Undertale fanfic Once More, Never again. Though I suppose this is more relating to the collab Two of a Kind which I share with the lovely @mysticalcrusadementality since some of the characters in this screenshot (up in the corner anyway) do not appear in OMNA. I’m currently in the construction phase of drawing but I’ve left my preliminary sketch behind so you can see where I started. Everyone has been drawn to scale, at least in my stories.
The style of which is insipred by @lavendertowne I really hope I don’t embarrass her with these.
It’s a Work in progress but I like how its turning out.
For the rest of my thoughts look under the cut.
The red one currently is Charlie Rae spinning her yoyo. Her body type is actually my go to for girls. as you can probably tell by how much cleaner it is compared to every one else. In the original sketch she was drinking a glass of alcohol. Something that while funny, wasn’t really true to her character.
Asriel was a bit harder since he’s shorter than Charlie Rae, younger, and his different proportions. I got his arms wrong in the initial sketch so I had to finagle with him for a bit. He is now holding a nondescript item.
Sans is supposed to be easy. At least in concept. He’s made mostly of simple shapes after all. But dear mother of god, his shapeliness makes it really hard to draw his form, skeleton or otherwise. My initial sketch of him started out with me drawing a circle for his head, and then drawing his clothes afterwards and he looked like a paper doll. I haven’t changed his pose, but i’ve tried to make it look more like he’s slouching with his hands in his pocket by angling his head. Dear mother of god, me drawing his hands ruined the neat and clean box look i had going for him. which is why I gave up drawing hands unnecessarily as seen by the drawing of Frisk.
I actually had to do a flow line for frisk because I changed her orientation and kept getting confused. You would not believe how much trouble I had getting doing her feet right. The back leg was always too long or crooked looking, but it worked out eventually.
Papyrus, I screwed up big time in the initial sketch and he ended up with the face of a nightmare. Naturally I erased it. Anyway, I changed his pose because i noticed that i had more trouble drawing characters that faces right compared to the characters that faced left. I’ll be honest. I don’t think I need to add much when I get around to details because he’s pretty much a fancy construction form anyway. Still, here’s something about his pose that I’m not too happy about but I can’t quite place it.
I liked my original sketch of undyne so I more or less left that one alone. She’s got a bit or artistic license involved because fish don’t nurse so she shouldn’t have boobs. But I needed a way to make her body different from just a stretched out version of Charlie Rae’s so a bit of boobage it was. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep her boots though.
Alphys on the other hand, got a nearly complete overhaul. Oh her pose was the same, but my god was was HARD. I referenced a chicken for the original sketch (Undyne please don’t kill me) and she looked like crap. Here in the new one, i fixed her arms, made her more round to contrast Undyne’s sharpness, and used a (bigboned) woman for reference. I liked how her legs came out. Much neater and organic compared to before.
Queen toriel got a slimming and a leg fix. I put some boobs on her too to separate her from undyne. Actual. Boobs are surprisingly weird when you draw them in form. I fixed her feet so she’d be plantigrade like the rest of her family and that took a bit of adjustment.
And last but not least, King Asgore. I really liked how i did his pose in the sketch so I more or less refined it. In the sketch I drew his clothes first so this is just me adding the body underneath the armor and evening out the proportions.
