Hello I would like to talk about the donor event in Cut To The Feeling and specifically I wanna talk about the etiquette!
I am a drag queen and for a while I was involved in the International Court System (I am no longer involved because of various problems with the organization). The ICS is basically like pretend drag court but we would raise money for our local community.
In every court monarchs are elected and then they pick an upper house and together they put on events and solicit donations for their local queer community. In a way it's fun to play at the courtly aspect of it. On the other hand some people take it way too seriously.
The Court part came with a whole host of rules you had to follow and this is what the etiquette there was based on. In a way it's fun because there's like a 'correct' answer to social interaction which is rarely the case!
Things I had to do and remember included: when you're taking tips during your number you always take from the Emperor and Empress first, then the Prince and Princess, then the Duke and Duchess, and then other current reigning monarchs and your family and then everyone else. When you're lining up to tip a performer know your position and line up accordingly so the same hierarchy applies. You have to greet people in order, you get to have a fun pen name that they introduce you with (like the titles in the fic) etc.
All that info takes up a lot of space in my head so I'm just happy I was able to use it for something lmaoooo
