i am STARING at the detail of omra having a different epitaph. not the shaper of the beastfolk, the awakener of them. there’s something there. that feels like it has to be important.

find the Kaaba in your heart
hot take - the Kaaba is symbolic. it is just a place, it is not God. Masjid Al-Haram is just walls and stone, it is not God. God is not inside the temple. God is everywhere, God is inside your heart. you can do a pilgrimage to your own heart, find the Kaaba inside your own self. God is closer to the believer than his/her jugular vein. you can find the holiest of places inside you. this is what I believe. in current context, for me, going to Hajj would be contrary to some of the most important principles of Islam which are justice, equality, solidarity, and the courage to stand for one's beliefs. Hajj is a ritual. a ritual is important, but it is symbolic. a ritual is just gymnastics if it is empty of spirituality. God does not need you to go buy an "experience" marketed to you as "the gate to heaven" and sold to you by Demons and Devils. i really don't believe Hajj can be fardh under such circumstances. we can't be trying to buy our salvation & redemption as individuals and not give a fuck about the impact it has on the world and on others. that is selfish. if you pray while stepping on the dead body of the person you just murdered, it is not an act of worship anymore, it is hypocrisy. if you pray and recite the Qur'an as loud as you can in order to cover the screams of people being tortured in the room next to yours, and don't do anything to save them, and stop whoever is torturing them, it is not an act of worship, it is a sin. however Hajj is not the only thing we should boycott if we truly wanna fight KSA. The US and the West in general are also funding the Saudi regime and its human rights violations for oil. and everybody who uses cars is indirectly funding this Shaytanery... everything is related. we have to work on sustainable, renewable energy sources so we don't rely on oil anymore. which means : 1- not destroying the planet, 2- not giving money to the petro-kingdoms which are destroying our religion, oppressing women, immigrants, workers, queers and non-Muslims, funding violence & war, making Hajj a business, turning our Holy Sites into luxury hotels, and turning our emancipatory, progressive & revolutionary religion into a conservative, dogmatic & hateful ideology. i know France sucks and the US suck. but dude in Saudi Arabia all this is done in the name of Allah... migrant workers are treated like cattle, women are treated like property, and queers are treated like demons. too many Filipin@, Sudanese, Pakistani people are being abused with our $$$ giving all these injustices a freepass.
