a couple sim lifehacks (that i just realised not everyone knows)
If you have an object that you can’t normally use the Apartment Life raise/lower tools with-- you know, [ and ]-- you can grab one of SilentLucidity’s OMSPs and stick that sucker on there.
Here’s Aikeaguinea’s two-tile wall writing- normally not lowerable.
Slap it on top of one of Silentlucidity’s OMSPs, and...
...you can raise/lower it like any other wall decoration.
You can also use this to quartertile objects that can’t normally be quartertiled. Here, I’ve got Zena-Dew-Drop’s picnic basket (which isn’t currently quartertileable):
Put it on an OMSP, and wah-lah, you’ve got a quarter-tile-able object.
For the last thing we’re gonna grab the two-tile wall drawing again:
Without an OMSP, this bad boy sits riiiiight near the top of the wall. But let’s say you want it near the bottom. Unfortunately, OMSPs’ default state is at floor level:
And if you put something on top of them, it stays in its normal place. So what’s a simmer to do?
Well, if you take the OMSP down a story....
...you can raise the object you want to raise above the boundary of the level...
...and it’ll show up on the higher level!
You can even do this on the first floor, if you have a foundation. Just use moveobjects to get the OMSP below the foundation.
I’ve been doing this for ages, but it just occurred to me that not everyone knows that you can! So yeah, hope this helps you.
Go forth and decorate freely, my friends.
