Romans 7:19 (ESV) - For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.
On wanting to put myself out there, but being afraid of more than just rejection.
I have a very big fear of failure.
Perhaps at some point in my life, someone made me feel afraid of making mistakes a bit too much: perhaps, I got too afraid of showing that I wasn't perfect when I was in my formative years and that just stuck into adulthood as my way of moving through the world...
On Getting Things Done "If you want to do something, you find a way. If you don't want to do something, you find an excuse." Jeff Goforth
Two simple Questions
1. What do you want?
2. What did you do for it, today?
- On “doing something”:
Q: “ What shall i do to reach my goal?
A:” Even if i would know it, i wouldn´t tell you what to do. The only thing i can tell is, that there is always something you can do. “
Q:” Where should I start?”
A: “Wherever you are able to.”
Q: “But aren´t some actions better than others?
A: “Maybe. But all actions are better than inaction.”
Q:” But is that what i do, enough?”
A:” If you get a bit closer to achieving your goal, it is. Otherwise try doing more, or, better, something else, to reach your goal.”
save me from all these chores and commissions i just want to lay my face on my desk and sleep for the rest of the day
Morning Thoughts: A lesson in making things
(Morning thoughts is my attempt to write something or anything about photography that pops into my head. Nothing special but to just to keep my mind sharp and build that habit of continuously writing and photographing. I hope all of you enjoy)
I consider myself a minimalist. I’d like to do things slow and well thought out rather than pumped out and fast. That’s why some these morning thoughts or other things I write to published on the internet gets delayed because some of the things I write are not worthy yet or just go up to par with my personal quality control. What I usually do with those things is put them in one of my folders and hold them up there to marinate or list those not so good ideas into a “To write later” folder.
A few days ago, I saw one of those in my “To write” later ideas got written already by somebody else and went viral. I felt sad. I felt sad because someone beat me to it. Had I been quick to write and publish, I may have that article of mine go viral as well. The old adage of the internet is true: If you thought of it, someone already made it.
I guess this is a lesson for me but being the thick skull-ed boy that I am, I might not do a lot of changes.
