68. Our muses are destined to meet in the rain when they are forced to share an umbrella

It was a cold, rainy day in Valvestino. The former mermaid didn’t particularly care for rain, if she was being honest. It was so dreary, and it made her feel sad. Of course, it was somewhat ironic, for she had grown up in the water. Why dislike a couple of raindrops when she had been surrounded by water for the longest time? Because it was Aquata, that’s why.

Luckily enough, Mrs. Toft had given her an umbrella, and she didn’t hesitate to use it either. The girl walked the cobblestone streets, watching the people run into the shops to avoid the rain. She continued to walk at a reasonable pace. No, she didn’t care for weather, but a little drop of rain wouldn’t hurt her either.

Aquata took notice of a young woman then. She had no coat or umbrella, and seemed very cold. The brunette would not let her stand in the rain by herself. So without another thought, she walked up to her.

"Excuse me, Miss," she began, "would you like to stand under my umbrella?"
