Thing is, I don't really know. I have my theories. Liam was the first to trust him to be saved. Kurt did but not really, he was finally convinced by Cara, and he tried hard, believe. The others, the rest, were always doubting him because he had it all. With Liam, it was different.

He was risking a major offense to ULTRA since Liam was of high level, like John or Cara, in terms of threat to ULTRA. And Liam could have doubted it but he didn't. Then Liam was connected to his father which is something that could have guided him to that situation. 

And He was on a bad place the first time they both had sex, but it wasn something he wasn't expecting, and he enjoyed it. Not the sex, but the connection. That's why he repeated, and that's why his feelings developed in that way. He found what Liam had in to be offered and he embraced it.

[Darling I don't mind he knows. But Jedikiah's not a mind reader anymore and he's on edge. xD His reaction is pretty much natural and would be the one served to Stephen as well at this point.]
