I have a new AU for the Lers!!!!

Onceler and Greedler are the same person but from different universes where they made different choices. 

Onceler didn't end up selling his thneed and did something else instead, like opening an online shop where he sells blankets and sweaters and all things knitted. He makes a liveable wage because his shop is very popular, only due to the fact that he's hot and people like that he posts pics of himself with the products so they buy him out a lot. I love him so much. He usually doesn't get complaints even if he does mess up an order because people don't really care, they just wanna buy something a hot person made. 

Greedler sold his thneed and eventually almost fucked up the whole ecosystem because he got greedy. He EVENTUALLY listened to the Lorax RIGHT before it was too late and worked with a bunch of recruited townsfolk from Greenville (which is what Thneedville was canonically called before Thneeds) and fixed up the area. Greedler then vowed to never let his greed get the best of him again. But he still wants to be a ceo. And he also keeps the dubbed "Greedler" name and eventually changes it legally because he thinks it's cool and it also reminds him of his vow.

Greedler doesn't give a matching machine to an of the other Onceler's He doesn't really like any of his other selves except that one particular Onceler, the rest are insufferable TO HIM AT LEAST I think that's a good way to bring in all the other Onceler ask blogs and stuff, like they're all the same guy who ended up in different places and changed their name depending on their profession which is really cute Onceler is the only one who didn't change his name (to Greed's knowledge at least, maybe there are some others)

I like the idea that instead of his toxic family leaving him, HE leaves THEM. Because in the movie he still hasn't realized that they are toxic, he's still holding onto the hope that they do love him and that's honestly really sad. I just want things to be good for him and I want him to have that moment where he gets to kick them out and never go back. I really want him to just break free from the bad shit and finally feel some self worth and be a new man. 

You know?? Like giving him an au where he realizes things are wrong and fixes them is less about making him "less evil" and more about giving him a chance at a good life. 

He spends the rest of his life in that movie ALONE IN A CABIN IN A FOREST OF HIS OWN MISTAKES and he lives in that forever. He doesn't get a chance to fix things and he doesn't get a redo button. He just has to live with the fact that everyone who he loved left him and that he made a huge, almost irreversible mistake. One that he himself couldn't possibly fix. He had to wait until some stupid kid came along to fix it for him. I want him to have a good life with good friends and a chance to fix a mistake that he otherwise couldn't fix. I want him to be happy and loved, that's all.
