He stiffened, staring at his mother in shock. Sure it had been a little weird that he’d been asked to accompany his parents to visit Corona and then been told to dress in his full-blown Royal attire….but he’d thought nothing of it really. He was after all a prince and had royal obligations to fulfill, yet this one, this was not one he’d been expecting. Mouth hanging slightly open as his mother not only concluded her little speech but then left with Lily’s parents to give them some privacy he stared as the door closed behind them.

Mind reeling for a few moments he then slowly turned back to his….future bride….He and Lily had become close friends over the past few months leading to her 18th birthday. She was one of the few girls that didn’t throw themselves at him and he could be himself around her. In truth, he’d even written her a song that he was going to release on her birthday for her. But marriage?

Blinking for a moment he finally managed to say. “I swear I had no idea this was why I’m here….”

Lily had come down into the room with her parents, dressed in one of her more formal dresses for when they had royal company over. she’d kinda zoned out during the speeches, not really happy about being pulled away from her studies. until she heard something resembling you two are going to be married and she snapped out of it, wondering how much important stuff she’d actually missed?

“Well this is an elaborate practical joke if I’ve ever heard one.” Lily laughs, her mind trying to process the shock of it all. she’d had no idea they were going to spring this on her on her 18th birthday of all times, though she was guessing this had been in the works for years.

“Well my girlfriend isn’t going to be happy about it...I can tell you that much” she sighed and ran her fingers through her curls, she had been dating someone kind of on the quiet since she’d started at university. she didn’t throw herself at him because she’d had no reason to, or a good reason not to depending on how one wanted to look at it.

But if she had to do this, she’d rather be with her close friend than some random, right?

“Was I supposed to be listening?” Freddie questioned as eyes looked up at the male who had sat across the picnic table in the park. On the table top was various occult items, a ouija board, small animal bones and a book with blank pages to everyone but Freddie. Her head tilted to the side, pink strands falling. “How about I tell you, your future?”

Minnie tapped her fingers against the desk as she tried to avoid her mother’s gaze. Arranged Marriages were common practice in Auardon. They used to be common years ago but now, after so many happy ever afters, they were quickly forgotten about. Well, almost. Minnie knew that her mother, Elena, always wanted an alliance with Queen Ariel and King Eric. After all, their small kingdom of Avalor was completely surrounded by water and the closest port was their kingdom. To have Minnie marry their eldest son, who was destined to take over Atlantica once King Triton passed on, would mean a giant alliance. Minnie was alright with it. She had never had a boyfriend before and it wasn’t like she had been very close with any of the princes at Auradon Prep. She was even fine with Melody being her sister in law.

What she wasn’t sure about? Christian. That was all she really knew about her future husband. His name and the rumors that circled around. He returned from the sea and couldn’t seem to respect the royals around him. She was pretty sure that was a reason why Ariel and Eric weren’t against the marriage as well. Minnie was polite, soft spoken, charming, while also not letting anyone push her around. A good influence for someone who would become king one day.

So she waited, continuously watching the door as, she knew her mother would arrive soon with the guests.

Had he not looked like death warmed over, Alainne would have smacked him. She understood why he had done what he did -- a young girl’s life in danger as it was. But that didn’t mean she had to like it. Especially not when he was constantly riding her for not waiting for back up. He was the crowned prince. Heir to the throne. If anyone should not be going into places alone, it was him.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m not stubborn. Not like you. Why the hell didn’t you take Laurent? Or one of the others? Their entire point is to go places with you...”

Tegan wasn’t in the best mood after leaving her sorcery class. She found it interesting and really tried hard, but was growing frustrated that it hadn’t seemed to pay off yet. While her brother Owen was heir to the family throne, she’d received her mother’s magical bauble. Until she had her skills down though, Tegan couldn’t actually do anything with it. She wasn’t an enchantress yet. Patience was something she still needed practice at, and she was getting another chance as a crowd of girls clustered around her locker. It didn’t take her long to figure out why -- Jun was at his locker too, right next to hers. The girls of Auradon Prep literally fought each other to earn the heart of the Phoenix Prince, and she kind of felt for him. How could he find something real in that?

Despite her appearance, Tegan was no damsel in distress. She didn’t fawn over others, nor did she care what they thought. “Move it, ladies,” she greeted in her husky, brash tone, tossing her arm around Jun’s shoulder casually. “He’s already got a lunch date with me.” While it wasn’t true, the whine of the ladies made her smirk, and as they disappeared in a cloud of disappointment, she removed her arm and started to turn the combination lock on her locker. “You’re welcome,” she tossed a grin his way as she popped the door open. “I don’t know how you deal with that every day, man.”
