Angus had asked Bea to come over. “To talk”, he said. Of course, she still had to spend the day at the Ol’ Pickaxe, so it wasn’t until it was dark that she actually was able to head over to his apartment. When she entered, Angus was nowhere to be found- until she noticed the big lump of blankets piled onto the couch was breathing.
Pushing gently against what she assumed was his shoulder, Bea muttered under her breath- “Angus. Hey. It’s Bea, wake up.”
“Good luck with your… um, murders.” Angus said, holding a thumbs up. -hesinmycorner

Bea grit her teeth. The last few days had obviously been rough on Angus. And Gregg working double shifts at the falcon obviously didn’t help, either. So that’s why she found herself sitting on the couch next to a clearly distraught Angus- a situation where, honestly, she’d rather be at the Pickaxe.
“None of us did, Angus. You just got dealt a shittier deck than most people.”
That deck being his parents, his upbringing... Basically any part of his childhood you could shake a stick at. And having to look after his mother now obviously didn’t help.
