　　　　sure, him & bucky hadn’t spoken often. that didn’t change the fact that the teen was TIRED, & bucky not moving was the only thing that could have been keeping him from stretching out on the couch. that didn’t seem to bother peter, though, because no more than a few seconds passed before he DID stretch out, half on the couch & half on bucky. he weighed like, two pounds, so it probably wouldn’t be uncomfortable.  　　　　❛ your arm is really cold, dude, ❜ peter commented half heartedly. it was still AWESOME, though.

“Don’t embarrass me.”

Steve lifts an eyebrow before correcting with, “Please.”

There’s a huff from the much tinier body but the smile tells him the moment isn’t serious.  “Don’t embarrass me, please.”

Taking the day off had been easy enough.  Being a single father wasn’t a new status but it was still one he was trying to adjust to every single moment.  Balancing work, his daughter’s needs, and a home life was a precarious balance that made a late game Jenga tower look easy.  Yet, he’d never change it for anything.  Leona gave him a purpose he never thought possible.  If anything happened to her he’d tear the world apart.  In the military, Steve had aspirations of making the world a more peaceful place for her to live in.  Once home, becoming a cop seemed like the next best thing.  Just on a more local level.

Small fingers tug on his wrist.  Steve can’t help but clear his throat when he notices that Leona is dragging him dangerously close to her teacher.

“Bucky,” he inclined his head in an timid greeting.  “Mr. Barnes?  I have no idea what to call you today.”
