On June 5th, Louis Tomlinson will be playing on the England side of #SoccerAid2016 donating his time and talent to bring much needed funds to support @unicefuk
At @onedirectionnda we are incredibly proud of Louis and all the One Direction gentlemen who selflessly give so very much to as many charity events as they can. This support not only gives to many in need, but also sets a wonderful example for their fans of how important it is to give what you can, whenever you can to helping others!
This post gives a look at how the donations through #SoccerAid2016 for UnicefUK used and what it means in the lives of children in need around the world.
Well done, Louis, on giving your time and talent to @unicefuk and for the amazing things they can for children in need through your efforts with the team!

WHY SOCCER AID MATTERS
Every two years, Soccer Aid brings together two teams of celebrities and football legends from England and the Rest of the World for the biggest charity celebrity football match in the calendar.
Soccer Aid started in 2006 as a brainwave of Unicef UK ambassador Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes. Now in its 10th year, the event has raised an amazing £17 million for Unicef’s work for children and has involved legendary players Diego Maradona, Zinedine Zidane and Teddy Sheringham as well as music, film and TV stars from around the globe.
England won the first two Soccer Aid matches but couldn’t make it a hat-trick in 2010, with the Rest of the World team narrowly winning on penalties. England came back in force with a clear victory in 2012, but were stunned with two late goals in 2014 to hand the Rest of the World back the title.
This year the match will be played at Old Trafford on Sunday 5 June 2016 to help raise even more vital funds to save and change children’s lives.
Unicef is on the ground, working day and night to provide much needed support and offer a lifeline to children in danger. We can’t do it without your help. By supporting Soccer Aid your donations will help Unicef provide nutritious food, vaccines and clean water, as well as protecting children from violence, exploitation and abuse.
