DEATHRABBITS 2nd. ONEMAN Ticket Guide - Part 3

And here we are, onto our third and final part!

You should have received an email if your item has finished packing and is ready to ship. This is the part where we will be paying off any fees and shipping costs... so you will finally have your tickets heading to you!

Firstly, make your way back to FromJapan and go to your “Shopping Service List”. You will now see a message saying “Charge 2 payment is pending” as circled in red below. Click that!

You will then be taken to the payment form page. Here you can change the value of the item(s) to be written on the customs form. If you are from a country where customs love to charge you obscene amounts for small items over a certain value, I would change the value. Otherwise, you can probably keep it the same.

One thing to note, if you DO change the value of the items on the customs form, then you will ONLY be insured for that amount, so please make the decision for yourself! This is all explained right underneath the value changer.

Once you’re happy with that, scroll down a little and you can finally select your final shipping method, as circled in red below. Select the option best for you!

(Please also ignore my Samurai discount... I get this for being a frequent buyer.)

As stated, with EMS, FedEx and Small Packet parcels, they will be shipped the same day if the charges are all paid before 3 PM JST!

Make sure to also tick the box that will have your items sent as “gift” for people in countries that need to avoid customs fees. I have circled this in green below.

After this, scroll down and select your method of pament. I will use paypal, but once again it is up to you. Just like in part 1, every method has a 5% fee. Once you’ve selected the payment method, simply click on “proceed to checkout” as circled in red.

The next page will show you detailed information about your shipment. Make sure the “shipping methods” as circled in red are all correct.

If that is all okay, then please look at the table underneath called “Charge 2 total amounts”. As circled in green, this is a break down of every single charge, so you will know EXACTLY what you are and aren't paying for.

Happy with that?

If so, scroll down a little bit more to see your “final total amount” as circled in red, and if you are still happy with this, then click “make payment” as circled in green!

Go through the payment process, and when complete, you shall be presented with the following message:

And that is it! You can check on the status of your shipment at any time by going to your “Instructed Shipment(s) List” page and checking the status as circled in red below.

Once your item has been shipped, you will receive an email telling you as such, and also a tracking number (if you selected insurance and the right type of shipping!). This can be seen any time after the fact also by clicking on “Shipping History” as circled in red below.

And that is it! You have successfully bought and had your 2nd. ONEMAN Tickets shipped to you!

DEATHRABBITS 2nd. ONEMAN Ticket Guide - Part 2

And, we’re back!

So, you have paid for your tickets, and you’ve recieved an email that your item(s) have arrived to FromJapan... now you want to know how to get them shipped to your address?

My gosh, you sure ask a lot... but, I’m a nice guy and I can help you! ^^

Firstly, return to FromJapan and of course, log into your account. Make your way to your shopping service list, and you will find that your item now says “Please add the shipping instruction.” as shown in red on the image below. Click that!

Please ignore the fact that my order has two tickets and yours does not. I am personally ordering two tickets as part of the same shipment, but it won’t affect how I make this tutorial at all.

You will be brought to a page with the following details. Please read everything carefully so you can decide the best way to move forward with your purchase.

Once you’ve read everything, please scroll down until you come to a section stating “Select the items to be shipped”.

A shown below, circled in red, I have ticked the item that I would like to be shipped.

Circled in Green shows the arrival date and how long it has been since the item arrived to FromJapan. 

Circled in Purple is where you will fill out your own shipping instructions to your home address. If you’ve used PayPal to pay for this item, then it will automatically use the address from your PayPal account.

When you’re happy with all that, please click the “Continue” button as circled in Blue!

This will bring you to a page where it shows all of the previously entered information, and it will also give you a chance to select the kind of packaging you would like for your item, as circled in red below. I personally always choose regular packing, but it’s completely up to you!

Scroll down a little bit more, and as circled in red below, you can choose a temp method to ship your items. If your order is worth over 6000 Yen, then it will be impossible to use “small packet shipping”.

Once again, the choice of shipping method is completely up to you. I tend to use “Air Mail”, as it is usually fast/cheap (although, this is not always the case). You will have a chance to change this option later on if you wish!

If you are happy with everything, then please tick the box in the section circled in Green, and then click “Process” as circled in Purple.

And, that is it!

As stated, within 2 business days your item shall be packed, and you will then receive further instructions on how to pay Shipping charges and any additional fess incurred for using FromJapan’s Proxy Service. This will all be discussed in the Third and final part!

DEATHRABBITS 2nd. ONEMAN Ticket Guide - Part 1

Hi, there!

So, you want to buy a ticket (or more than one maybe!) to DEATHRABBITS next ONEMAN? Good choice!

“But, Peter... As a foreigner it’s almost impossible to buy a ticket!” I hear you cry. Fear not! Years ago I found a good way of buying tickets from Japan! It will cost you a little more than buying it directly from the store itself (due to service fees and stuff), but to have the tickets, it’s not SO bad!

First of all, the site I use, and have been using for years is FromJapan. Without them, I wouldn’t have half of the things I currently have from Japan!

So, if you haven’t already, go to their site and register for an account.

Once you’re all registered, the process is pretty simple. On the right of the screen (as shown below circled in Red), click on “Shopping”, and then click (as shown circled in Green) “other sites”.

The “Item URL” should be “https://ticketpay.jp/booking/?event_id=1371″, and the name of the item should be “ デスラビッツ 2ndワンマンライブ〜えみ・ゆず・かりん VS 部長〜　第二回戦”.

Once you’ve done that, click “access to shopping page (as is badly circled in Purple!).

Once you’ve done that, you’ll come to the shopping service screen. It’s actually very simple to navigate!

In the “comments box”, you need to tell them the type of ticket you wish to buy.

To find the correct ticket type to buy, you’ll have to refer to the ticket page itself.

The text circled in red (通常券) says “Normal/Regular Ticket”.

The text circled in green (女性割引券) says “Female Discount Ticket”.

And finally, the text circled in purple (学生割引券) says “Student Discount”, but if you had  a form of Student ID in Japan, you wouldn’t even need this guide!

Once you’ve selected the type of ticket you would like to buy, simply type into the “comments” box: “I would like to Order 1x “INSERT CORRECT TICKET KANJI HERE”, please. Thank you!”, just like circled in the picture below.

PLEASE make sure to put the EXACT ticket type you want, otherwise you might face a problem on the day of the live. Oh, and in the comment text, if you needed more than 1 of the SAME type of ticket, obviously just adjust the “1x” to however many, and make sure to change the quantity from “1″ directly above”.

The section marked in green is completely your choice. I never feel the need to pay extra for “safer domestic shipping” in Japan, but you might! so, please select whatever works for you. I take no responsibility for anything that gets lost if you choose to not select a safer shipping method!

And finally, circled in purple is also optional, but it will make sure you get your tickets in the same packaging they were delivered in, which is a nice touch!

PLEASE NOTE!!! - If you want two different types of tickets, then you must make 2 separate orders, but you can pay for them both at the same time, to save on shipping!

Once you’ve done all of that, simply scroll down and click “Add to cart” as circled in red below

And boom, you’ve started the process of ordering your tickets! It says below that it usually takes 2 days, but I’ve always had my order processed within hours... except on weekends, when no one is at the company!

You can now go and check the status of your shopping order by clicking the link to the right of the page that I have circled in red. Circled in green is the current status of your order.

Once your quote has been processed you should get an email like this

Once you’ve gotten that, simply go back to your “Shopping Service List” as previously shown, and click on the text circled in red below

Okay, this is the part where you actually PAY for your tickets! Hoozah!

As shown in red below, there is a 200 Yen charge as commission on every order, and the full total is calculated circled in green... DON’T PANIC! That is based in Yen, and not $ or £, so you won’t be paying thousands for a ticket haha!

Then, if you’re happy with that, simply scroll down and select a payment method. I personally use PayPal, but you’re of course free to use a credit/debit card!

Also, just to note, ALL payment methods contain a 5% system fee. Sucks, but that is the life of an importer!

Once you’ve selected your payment method, simply press “proceed to checkout”.

The next screen will show you exactly how much the 5% fee was (circled in red) and the final total for this part of the order (circled in green).

Simply click the confirmation box (circled in purple), and then click “make payment”.

Then all you have to do is go through the normal paypal screen, and confirm everything. It’s that simple!

If you then go back to your “Shopping service list”, you will see the status of the item is now “In transit to FJ”! Yay!

In the next parts I will show you how to get your items shipped when they arrive to FJ, and discuss additional fees you’ll have to pay for. They aren’t going to be anything like SUPER expensive (otherwise I would never buy stuff from Japan), but they are a pain!

DEATHRABBITS 1st. ONEMAN Live – The Journey (Part 1)

It’s 10:30 AM. The date is May 30th, 2015. After an 18 hour Journey to Japan, and about 4 hours sleep, It’s officially the day of DEATHRABBITS 1st. ONEMAN, and the sun is BLAZING!

Quick checks of the official DEATHRABBITS twitter account indicate that all 300 tickets have sold… meaning the ONEMAN is 100% Sold Out. The staff have even asked people to not to turn up at the door trying to buy tickets, as none will be sold on the day. It’s starting to set in just how big of a deal DEATHRABBITS are starting to become in Japan in a very short 18 months.

After eating some Breakfast (Conbini food bought the night before), and showering/doing our hair, we made our way out from Sangenjaya to Shibuya. We picked such a place to stay on purpose, as it was direct to Shibuya.

As said before, the sun was literally blazing, which was unusual as it was pouring with rain the day before. I heard from people later on that such weather is unusual for the end of May, but they seemed happy that it was so hot! We got lost in Shibuya trying to find our way to “Club Asia” (It’s very hard to find!), but luckily right in front of the Starbucks at Scramble Crossing there were 3 VERY cute girls offering to help foreigners find their way around Shibuya.

After about a 10 minute search and some chit chat, we finally made it to Club Asia. We said our goodbyes to our kind new friends, and set in search for fellow admin Masato-San. We quickly found him in the line and made our first greetings. He’s simply the nicest guy you could ever meet, and helped us to communicate with Japanese fans when it was too much of a struggle for us.

Outside the venue were a few surprises! DR Japanese fans had put together a lovely shrine of flowers and balloons to celebrate the very first ONEMAN, and to ferel happy about Buchou being kicked out haha... TK Dance (Yuzu and Karin’s dance school) also paid to have a special flower display put outside of the venue to support their fellow classmates!

As the time was around 3:15 by this point, we let the staff know we had arrived to the venue. This was because we actually had an interview with DEATHRABBITS themselves before the ONEMAN! We were a little early, so they asked us to wait a little longer, which of course we were happy to oblige. This brought us to the front of the queue where we got to know some of the Japanese fans that seem to be at EVERY live (yes, including the fan with Long hair that everyone overseas is obsessed with!). Amy decided to hand out some of the Business cards we had made to advertise the Fan Club, and everyone was so nice to her. We can’t thank you all enough for how you treated us that day.

We brought along with us a special book designed by me and Amy on behalf of DEATHRABBITS Fan Club, documenting DR’s history from the beginning until now. We also left space in the book for fans to sign with their names and leave messages to the group. I can confirm that ALL pages assigned for fans to sign were completely filled by the end of the night… but more on that later!

The book made it’s way down the line passed between fans, and we properly got to meet the staff members Goro-San and Mina-San who would be letting everything happen that day. Goro-San is such a cool guy with great English, and Mina-San was a stylish lady who’s English was pretty much perfect!

We were then invited inside to do our interview. We had taken a lot of questions from fans and submitted them to the DR staff to pick and choose the ones they liked the best.

Me and Amy were then lead upstairs, and it finally set in what was about to happen… we were about to meet DEATHRABBITS! We got upstairs to where the merch tables were held, and we just happened to have a very brief meeting with the girls’ families! Of course, we tried to be polite and respectful and bowed to them.

In a separate room to the side of the merch hall, DEATHRABBITS were waiting to be interviewed by us! They even kept shouting things out to us in English from inside the room. Once Buchou was ready adjusting his mask (to hide his face, of course!), we were allowed inside.

This had to be one of the best things we ever got to do while in Japan. Buchou and the girls were SO polite to us, and greeted us in English and Japanese! They REALLY seemed to love the Fan Club T-Shirts we were wearing, making comments such as “Sugoi!” and “Kawaii”. We let them know they were designed by a member of the Fan Club (Thank you again JunLin Arts!!!). They were COMPLETELY shocked to hear we had travelled all the way from the UK to come JUST to see their ONEMAN!

The staff allowed us to hand over the Fan Club T-Shirts that were paid for by Fan Club members. They were so shocked to receive them, and seemed so grateful when it was explained to them that other Fan Club members had actually paid for the shirts.

We also handed over the Chocolate that was bought for the girls (Special British chocolate paid for by Fan Club member Jerome Schlue), and we also handed a gift over to Buchou… his first question about it was “This is Alcohol?!”, and he shouted “YEAH!” when the gift was confirmed to be Alcohol. What a cool guy! We also gave surprise gifts to the DR Staff, which they really seemed to love. We were too happy!

Finally, it was time for the interview! As we had a limited time, only 4 questions could be asked, but we think they were probably some of the best questions asked by fans, and the answers honestly felt so natural… I have been an idol fan since 1999, and I’ve seen so many interviews where the idols answers were COMPLETELY acted/scripted, but I honestly feel that DEATHRABBITS answers were the most natural, unscripted answers possible. We really appreciated this!

I’m sure you’re all dying to know the questions and answers to the interview, so we won’t keep you waiting any longer:

Question 1 - Amy: If you ever have the chance to perform overseas, where would you most like to perform? Emi: Hawaii! Yuzu: Thailand! Karin: London! (Everyone slightly cheered at this haha~) Buchou: Europe! Question 2 – Peter: Have you ever seen Buchou without his mask on before? Emi, Yuzu, Karin: NO! Never! Peter: We’ve heard he’s quite the Ikemen (Handsome/Cool guy)! Emi, Yuzu, Karin: …Really? Buchou: Disgusting… my face?… My face is handsome? Emi, Yuzu, Karin: … (Everyone laughed about this) Question 3 – Amy: If you had to eat ONLY one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Emi: Strawberry! Yuzu: Gyoza! Karin: Macaroon! Buchou: Sushi!!! Question 4 – Peter: Is there any message you would like to send to your fans inside and far outside of Japan? Emi: I will try my best to perform overseas, so please continue to listen to DEATHRABBITS! Yuzu: I want overseas fans to come to our lives in Japan if possible, but of course I would like to perform overseas, too. I will try my best! Karin: I will do my best to perform overseas! Buchou: To me, it doesn’t matter where we play in the world, I just want to have fun all over the world with DEATHRABBITS! (Buchou then showed what he meant by forming a globe with his hands and saying the word “Earth!”, to which the girls copied him haha~)

After all was said and done, we thanked them and the staff for the amazing oppurtunity we had just had... But we had a surprise opportunity, taking a personal picture with DEATHRABBITS!

I hate my face in these, but it was so fun! Emi, Yuzu, Karin, Buchou, the staff and their families were the nicest people ever, and it makes me happy to support such a group!

After we said our goodbyes to everyone, we were lead back outside and met back up with Masato-San. He suggested it might be a good idea to hand out some more business cards to fans, so the three of us worked together to help advertise the Fan Club properly. As my Japanese was limited, Masato-San really came through and helped me to communicate with other Japanese fans. It was surprising how many people recognised me and Amy from Facebook and Twitter, and how many people talked to us first saying such!

At around 4:25, the doors opened and everyone was allowed inside.

We were all given a special ONEMAN snack item (pictured below), and a DEATHRABBITS Point card.

(*26 & 27: A FREE snack... tastes just like a Cheeto/Wotsit, but on a MUCH larger scale! It seemed to be another product wrapped in DR packaging haha... and of course, the point card you get stamped every time you buy merch!)

The Japanese queueing system is a little different to the west. First, when you go inside you stand in one line to show your ticket INSIDE the venue (here in the UK it’s checked generally on the way inside), and then you must also buy a drink ticket. This is known as a “drink charge”, and as far as I know, it is unique to Japan. It is generally around 500 Yen, and the ticket you get can be exchanged for something like a bottle of water at the bar inside the venue. You seem to be able to redeem this before, during and after the live, so it is interesting.

Then, we wanted to buy DEATHRABBITS merch… the system for this is also different. Unlike in western venues, where it is every man for themselves, an orderly queue is formed, and everyone waits their turn in a single file… I actually liked this a lot better. Because of doing the interview and handing out cards, I thought there would be no chance of getting any merch we really wanted to get… in the west, of you’re in the venue so late, you will 100% lose any chance of getting the item you want to buy. But, me and Amy managed to buy every single piece of merch we wanted to buy!

I had so much stuff with me that I simply had to leave the venue to find a large coin locker to put my stuff inside. Coin lockers are EVERYWHERE in Japan, so if you are loaded down and have things to do, please feel safe in using them. They are safe and cheap!

On the downside, I had to repay the drink fee to re-enter the venue, which sucked a little bit, but at 500 Yen, I felt I could justify paying such a charge. Around this time, we also talked to some Japanese fans, including Ma Oka, who happens to have translated a great deal of the DEATHRABBITS songs for our very own fan club! I also managed to meet Yagi who is DEATHRABBITS artist, and I even met DEATHRABBITS very own composer “Tetsuya Kobayashi”! I told him how amazing his music was, and he seems so happy to hear it. Everything felt unreal. Japan is simply amazing.

And then, it was onto the live itself, as it was about to begin!
