As odd as it had been to see Ashley off, Seoras had been looking forward to this employee swap thing. Having a fresh pair of eyes might help the team catch issues they’d never noticed before. It would be nice to know what their colleagues in Cardiff were like. And, in all honesty, it would be nice to meet someone new who they didn’t have to lie to about their job.
So when they spotted an unfamiliar head of dark hair at what was usually Ashley’s desk, they jogged down the steps to greet her with a smile.
“Hiya,” they said, holding out a hand. “You must be Gwen Cooper. Seoras Lennox.” They put their other hand on their chest, over the t-shirt emblazoned with THEY/THEM/THEIRS in large letters. They tended to wear it on days when somebody new showed up to work. Not that that happened often.
“I work just over there,” they said with a nod towards their desk. “You finding everything all right? Not too knackered from the drive up?”
