OOC; I think for Chani, intimacy and the need/desire for touch is so incredibly important since something as soft as a relationship is incredibly fleeting. While there is a more childish/teenage approach to relationships ( marriage of youth) it seems more likely that, at some point, you will lose that.
Whether it is because your partner is called out and killed, or dies in raid/war, or is simply shot down for sport by those of the Imperium, you will lose them. In the case of being called out the victor take responsibility of taking care of the losers wife and children accepting them into their household as either a servant or as a wife. The fact that a man can have many wives and not be in love with them is normal for the preservation of the tribe.
So, however fleeting, Chani still wants to hold onto something: as many conversations that can be held, hands held, kisses, and just normal relationship things that can all be done within the safety within the safety of the Sietch.
