So, in this it mentions ‘soulmates’. I specifically wrote this in a way that if the reader WANTS to perceive it was romantic, they can. If not, then it can totally be platonic!!
Lemme know what you think. :)
You couldn’t help but frown softly as you waited in line. It was your first time going to a big convention and you had managed to slip into a decent place in line!! You weren’t quite in the front, but you weren’t in the back. It was sort of the upper-middle section. Your nerves were on fire as you waited, biting your lip at what you might say to the guys. Everyone always had something unique to say, because your first words always mattered. One day those first words would be forever etched on the skin of your soulmate. No one was ever quite sure what exactly it meant for someone to be your soulmate, but it was something that ended up with awkward forced reactions. You eyed the wrists of the people in front of you, hands dangling side by side with fingers laced together. You could see ‘Is it still memes that make you sweat?’ on one and on the other it said ‘Shrek is love, Shrek is life’. Despite being slightly jealous, longing to find the person who would forever have your first sentence to them etched on their arm, you couldn’t help but smile. It was a cute scene and these two were clearly meant to be together, if it wasn’t clear by their love of memes.
You didn’t have anything planned in specific for what you would say to your soulmate, but you always planned on replying to them as best as you could. You didn’t know what it would be, but you knew that you would know what to say when the time finally came. You decided to get your mind off the anxiety of waiting, pulling up your sketchpad that you had brought with you and pulling out one of your lesser favorite pencils. You didn’t dare risk losing your favorite in a crowd like this. Your eyes glanced up to see the boys sitting down at a table and talking to some fans that were getting their things signed. Your eyes were particularly drawn towards one of them in particular, the tall one with curly hair that seems perpetually covered with a beanie. You couldn’t help but notice his smile as he talked to some fans, gently pushing the pencil across the paper to follow the frame of his lips. Your hand moved faster than you were expecting, smudging, erasing, and drawing as you kept looking over towards him. You were so into your drawing that you didn’t even realize that you were next in line, the man you had just been drawing looking at you with curiosity. You felt a bright red creep on your cheeks, moving closer to the table and checking the page that you weren’t drawing on to make sure it was alright for him to sign. In front of him was a sign that said ‘I’M TYLER’ twice, clearly written by Mark and Ethan.
“Smile Always,” he greeted in his normal opening message. He had mentioned in a live stream that after it became part of his regular life, he wanted that to be his first message to his soulmate. Sort of like a reminder and a cute message at the same time. You were about to respond when you felt your arm tingle, forcing you to look at your wrist with curiosity. You felt tears tugging at the edges of your eyes as you saw the words ‘smile always’ neatly sprawled on your skin.
“You’re my reason to,” you replied as you wiped away your tears, still in a mild state of shock. You saw his smile widen as he gently grabbed your notebook.
“Everything will be in here. Can we hang out after the autograph session?” he asked, writing something down in your notebook, “oh and I like your drawing of me.”
You felt your cheeks burning hot as you nodded, taking your notebook from him and shuffling further down the line. Your heart was racing the entire time and you’ve never wanted two hours to pass faster in your life.
