Final Samurai Troopers Statue in the FOC line, Shuten!

Preorder directly in their store here with a deposit of $160USD or pay full price of $389USD (shipping is separate). You can also dm them through their facebook page. Estimated shipping is September, with delivery sometime in late Q4 2022 (because by boat and supply chain issues). 

According to their site, the statue is L28.5 X D29 X H44.5CM (L11.22 x D11.42 x H17.52IN), and weighs around 8KG (17lbs).

Birthday Event Announced for Shiten/Anubis!

The store at Nakano Broadway, Hakaba, the store that showcased the 30th anniversary gallery, sold the first batch of exclusive goods, and has been hosting all the Troopers’ birthday events, has announced it is celebrating the birthday of Shiten/Anubis, the Oni Mashou, aka Warlord of Cruelty!

Shiten’s birthday celebration will run from April 26th, 2021, through May 16th, 2021. His birthday is on May 5th. Just like Shin’s birthday event, the illustration rewarded to 100 shoppers who spend over 5,000 yen (~$50) will be determined by a lottery! Here’s the preview of the illustration:

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for everyone who wishes to receive the illustration will get one.

In the meantime, let’s check out the new goods!!

This item is a handmade pouch that is being created by craftsmen in Kyoto! The white body of the pouch represents the Kikoutei/Inferno. The five colored bands of fabric, each with a unique pattern (yuzen pattern) represents the armors of the five troopers. The show’s logo, the helmet, is gold embroidery in the center. The pouch will cost 3,520 yen (~$35).

Next up is a t-shirt. Black is currently the only color previewed, but I think the design looks amazing. The shirt features rectangles for each warlord; the rectangle’s background color matches the warlord’s main color scheme (naaza/sekhmet is green, rajura/dais is pink, anubis/cale is brown, and shiten/anubis is purple (?)). The insignia of each warlord’s armor appears in a slightly darker shade of the background color in the upper right of the rectangle. Each warlord’s armored silhouette takes up the rest of the rectangle. It will sell for 4,400 yen (~$44).

Next item is an omamori, or an amulet inside a pouch. This type of amulet is commonly sold at shrines and are designed with specific charms or protection “spells” in them. The pouch is a white fabric with the helmet logo in gold on one side, and Japanese characters, also in gold, on the other side (google translate app says the characters say “special ceremony”). For more information on omamori, check out the omamori wikipedia article here. The omamori is 1,320 yen (~$13).

Next item is a set of 6 “can badges”, which I think translates to button pins. Each trooper gets a  button with an image of them (upper torso) in their armor, against a matching-color background; their insignias can be seen behind them, and their name in kanji is beside them (their names are written as Rekka no Ryo, Tenuk no Touma, Suiko no Shin, Korin no Seiji, and Kongo no Shuu). The sixth pin is a group image of all 5 troopers with Arago/Talpa’s season 1 cloud-castle in the background. Each pin is 38mm (~1 3/16″). The set can be purchased for 1,320 yen (~$13).

This last item has me a bit baffled as the translation didn’t really explain it well... Here we have 6 “tv badges”. The badges are old tvs (like from the 1970s, with knobs and crt screens!) that have the eye-catch pictures of each trooper, and Ryo in the inferno armor, appearing in the tv screen. At the moment there’s no description of what these really are, but they’ll be sold for 660 yen ($6). That price makes me think these will be either blind boxes, or extremely small.

I’m honestly super surprised that they’re holding an event for Shiten’s birthday, but I’m not complaining either. Who’s excited for some more yst goods? Raise your hands! <3

More Goods for Shiten’s Birthday

tShiten’s/Anubis’s birthday event has begun, and 2 additional items have been added to the line up!

First up, keychains! These are sold as blind-boxes, as was done with the troopers’ keychains. There are 12 different keychains, 3 designs per warlord, with each design featuring an image of the warlord on one side with the show logo, and a quote from them on the other side that’s set against a corresponding colored background. These are 550 yen (~$5.50).

Second new item is a canvas print featuring the 4 warlords. Each warlord is sitting in their armor with their insignia and corresponding-color background. The canvas is 275mm square, or ~11″. It is selling for 3,300 yen (~$33).

Additionally, we now have new details on the tv pins:

The tv pins are being sold individually, so you can pick whichever one you want. The design features a pin and stand built in so you can easily display it. Each pin is 44mm x 55mm x 9mm (~1.5″ x 2.16″ x 0.35″), and sells for 660 yen (~$6.60).

Shiten Armor Plus Preorders Open

Preorders for the Lutoys (bootleg) Armor Plus Shiten figure are now open, with an estimated shipping date being within this month, October, 2020!

Looks like Lutoy’s delivery within the 6-month to 1 year estimate was accurate! These are the same makers of the Naaza and Anubis (Cale) bootleg armor plus figures. Based on the consistent reports of inconsistent quality of those figures, buyers should expect some difficulties with parts. I’m also a little nervous that the do not have a picture of his face, something that we haven’t seen from this model-maker even in the prototype pictures.

At the time of writing this post, the preorder price was set to ~$71.28, with an additional estimated $7.82 in shipping from China to the USA. It can be preordered here.

Bad News, Good News: Shiten Armor Plus Figure Update

Bad news first: the Shiten bootleg “armor plus” figure by Jeen Toys has been cancelled. Remember this post:

According to the admin of the Ronin Warriors Samurai Troopers 5 Samurai Los Cinco Samurai Toys Figures Faceook Group, the cancellation was due to either the pandemic or financial difficulties. Alas, farewell to this incarnation of the Oni Mashou armor plus.

Good news though: the company that makes the bootleg armor plus Naaza/Sekhmet and Anubis/Cale figures, Lutoys/China Model Toys, is making a Shiten/Anubis “armor plus” figure!

While Lutoys/China Model Toys’ track record of quality hasn’t been that great, the fact that they’re continuing the warlord line is truly impressive! Based on the release schedule of the previous figures, it may be between 6 months and a year until we see the final version ready for release.

Let’s hope they keep on going!
