Birthday Event Announced for Shiten/Anubis!

The store at Nakano Broadway, Hakaba, the store that showcased the 30th anniversary gallery, sold the first batch of exclusive goods, and has been hosting all the Troopers’ birthday events, has announced it is celebrating the birthday of Shiten/Anubis, the Oni Mashou, aka Warlord of Cruelty!

Shiten’s birthday celebration will run from April 26th, 2021, through May 16th, 2021. His birthday is on May 5th. Just like Shin’s birthday event, the illustration rewarded to 100 shoppers who spend over 5,000 yen (~$50) will be determined by a lottery! Here’s the preview of the illustration:

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for everyone who wishes to receive the illustration will get one.

In the meantime, let’s check out the new goods!!

This item is a handmade pouch that is being created by craftsmen in Kyoto! The white body of the pouch represents the Kikoutei/Inferno. The five colored bands of fabric, each with a unique pattern (yuzen pattern) represents the armors of the five troopers. The show’s logo, the helmet, is gold embroidery in the center. The pouch will cost 3,520 yen (~$35).

Next up is a t-shirt. Black is currently the only color previewed, but I think the design looks amazing. The shirt features rectangles for each warlord; the rectangle’s background color matches the warlord’s main color scheme (naaza/sekhmet is green, rajura/dais is pink, anubis/cale is brown, and shiten/anubis is purple (?)). The insignia of each warlord’s armor appears in a slightly darker shade of the background color in the upper right of the rectangle. Each warlord’s armored silhouette takes up the rest of the rectangle. It will sell for 4,400 yen (~$44).

Next item is an omamori, or an amulet inside a pouch. This type of amulet is commonly sold at shrines and are designed with specific charms or protection “spells” in them. The pouch is a white fabric with the helmet logo in gold on one side, and Japanese characters, also in gold, on the other side (google translate app says the characters say “special ceremony”). For more information on omamori, check out the omamori wikipedia article here. The omamori is 1,320 yen (~$13).

Next item is a set of 6 “can badges”, which I think translates to button pins. Each trooper gets a  button with an image of them (upper torso) in their armor, against a matching-color background; their insignias can be seen behind them, and their name in kanji is beside them (their names are written as Rekka no Ryo, Tenuk no Touma, Suiko no Shin, Korin no Seiji, and Kongo no Shuu). The sixth pin is a group image of all 5 troopers with Arago/Talpa’s season 1 cloud-castle in the background. Each pin is 38mm (~1 3/16″). The set can be purchased for 1,320 yen (~$13).

This last item has me a bit baffled as the translation didn’t really explain it well... Here we have 6 “tv badges”. The badges are old tvs (like from the 1970s, with knobs and crt screens!) that have the eye-catch pictures of each trooper, and Ryo in the inferno armor, appearing in the tv screen. At the moment there’s no description of what these really are, but they’ll be sold for 660 yen ($6). That price makes me think these will be either blind boxes, or extremely small.
