Onion Force | A Race to Save the King
In a world of royalty, battles and a whole lot of fast paced action, there exists three heroes whom harbor a specific set of crafted skills and pockets filled with collected gold coins and onions.. Yes onions. These heroes put bravery first and hesitation last, with only one mission fueled agenda, that is the successful safety of their valiant King. A tale that is nothing but the truth when it comes to developer Queen Bee Games and their fun filled title Onion Force.
Onion Force is a fresh new take on strategy, intelligent choices and tower defense, where the phrase, the onion is mightier than the sword is truly put into play, as the King faces a fate of certain death. Taking place in an interactive setting where the terrain and weather differ across levels and the environment is satisfyingly destructible, this quickly approaching death of the King can be prevented through protection by the available character cast and their unique abilities that they bring to the table.
The game itself contains 30 large levels and the ability to shift between three difficulties, but that doesn’t mean that the journey ahead is made any less of a challenge. From the beginning there is an intertwining of both comedic text dialogue and an air of competitiveness, that instills within your mind, the need and want to fight for the likes of the King.
As you carry on throughout the levels you’re sure to come across a mixture of both triumph and brutal frustration, because as I said, this game makes you work, it isn’t a walk in the park on a sunny day, it’s a chaotic battle against enemies that can only have two different endings, one, your success or two, your poor Kings demise and your unfortunate failure.
The music is engaging, the upgrades and power-ups contain a vast amount of variety and all in all those onions definitely end up coming in handy throughout the duration of the game. In the end, all factors come together to create a game that has a fantastic cartoon style and is to simply put it, down right enjoyable to play, so I definitely give this game a thumbs up!
