The early history of radioactive science is the most uncomfortable thing to learn about, because you want to celebrate all these amazing breakthroughs and studies that directly influenced modern technology, but can’t because you know the price was all of them unknowingly poisoning themselves.

The most ironic thing about MCU Loki is that Thor has made it clear he doesn't actually want the kingship, so if Loki had been a slightly better person he probably would've eventually gotten exactly what he had risked and lost everything he cares about for, without even needing to do any work. I mean he's second-in-line, loved and trusted by the first-in-line (pre-betrayal...and still post-betrayal to an extent), actually wishes to rule, and would in fact be very good at it, if not for his more selfish and cruel tendencies.
