Week 3 Online documentary and journalism
In this week's class, we did a recap on digital literature -- poetry& literature, such as some definitions from Komninos:
Poetry that is moving, digital, aural, visual and animated (multimedia)
Poetry that cannot be published in traditional print media (digital)
Poetry that allows interaction (interactive, input fields etc.)
(2014, QIBT ppt)
We were introduced with some other genre of online projects. For example: online documentary and journalism. One of the good creative documentary flash site is 360degrees- perspectives on the Criminal Justice System, which was created by a group called Picture Projects in 2001. Their co-workers contained photographers, journalists, and other artists to create this triumphant online documentaries. This is a really good website. It has comprehensive contents. I especially liked the style that lets you click on different people's story, it shows different moving image and sound, I think this style really works for me. The combination of sound and image, from the visual to auditory, are all very impressive ways to listen to how these prisoners talked about their life experience. It is very attractive and novel.
