Online EPF Claim: Easy Way To Access Your Money
The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) is one of the most trustworthy and reliable savings vehicles for salaried employees in India. However, when it comes to EPF withdrawals, many employees believe it involves complicated procedures and heavy reliance on paperwork. Thankfully, the online EPF withdrawal process has made it easier than ever to access your savings without ever having to enter an EPFO office.
Although the recent Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of digital processes, the EPFO was already starting to move online and leverage its employees' technology before the pandemic hit. Employees can now submit on-line EPF claims through the UAN Member Portal, which allows for the following types of requests:
Full Withdrawal - After reaching retirement or after two (2) months of unemployment.
Partial Withdrawal - For medical emergencies, education, marriage, or housing.
Pension Withdrawal - If you have fewer than ten (10) years of service.
If you haven't accessed the UAN Member Portal, the process is straightforward (albeit it can be upward of 30 MB to download the UAN app depending on your mobile device). First, you will log into the portal using your UAN, and make sure your KYC documents (Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account) are verified in the portal. Once logged in, all you need to do is click the withdrawal request you want to make and then hit submit. The funds will typically be credited to your bank account in 7–10 working days.
No more lines. No more delays. Just an easy, online experience to reclaim your savings that you've sweat for.
