The host’s smile fell slightly. Almost human. He poked Dodger’s side again with a painted nail. There were ladybugs on them. Ladybugs are the third happiest bug. Gentlemenbugs are the fourth (they get less recognition).
“Dodger...” Kevin whined, laying his head on the man’s chest, blinking up his body at him. “Dodger sleep is for the weak of heart. I can hear your heart right now. It’s quite strong.”
