I'm asking this genuinely, not trying to put hate on any character but do you think people sympathize more with Dean or Sam than Cas because there's a lot of hate on him by some people.

To some extent, probably. But you can also sympathize with Dean or Sam and not hate Cas.

I think the dislike for Cas is mostly fear or disapproval of the storyline shifting and taking away attention from what most people consider the only worthwhile story to focus on, and that is Sam and Dean's. Castiel was mostly tied to Dean from the get go, so some could see that as putting Sam on the sidelines.

Also, people dislike Cas for "he gets in the way of my ship" reasons.

And of course some Dean fans don't want to allow criticism of Dean based on how he treats Cas. They consider everything Dean ever did justified and see all criticism as hate. Since that "hate" is because of how Cas is treated, Cas is constructed to be the bad or useless character instead (i.e. "Cas is abusive to Dean!" arguments. But there are also Cas fans who take it too far and say that Dean's abusive and Cas deserves someone better etc. It's just not a nuanced reading of the characters at all. That's probably where projection and over-identification with a character comes into it...)

And many people also say (whatever above or other reason they might have to dislike Cas) that Cas was simply not well written in later seasons and therefore became a bland, boring character without any purpose. That he's a powerless loser now, who should have been killed off early, etc blah blah. It's easier to explain your dislike of a character that way instead of admitting that he's annoying you because he gets in the way of what you think is more interesting.

It's annoying when people hate Cas, but you'll just have to let people have their wrong opinions ;3

we are just a caps blog as the URL show it, we only post (and reblog on occasion) edited caps, I don’t know any blogs that do castiel gifs only
