In the 50’s the only mode of transportation were the bullock-drawn ghadi, the bicycle and the caminhão (brass paneled Chevrolet bus). The caminhão was not only the most popular but also the fastest mode of public transport. Ironically, it took ages to reach! For one, the caminhão would depart at its own time with numerous stops en route; scheduled, unscheduled and otherwise! And not very different from today's private buses. To start with, you would have to sit in the bus till the ‘turn boy’(who cranked the engine) and the driver gathered enough passengers to fill the caminhão to its max. Besides, the turn boy who would urge everyone to slide forward along the wooden benches that ran the length of the caminhão . The driver, too, would try to squeeze in a few more passengers next to him on the front seat! The bumps in the road or the swaying of the caminhão did not shake up the passengers, after all they were packed like sardines in a can! Though, the pace of the caminhão meant that you not only enjoyed Goa in its full splendor in slow motion but also caught on the local happenings! #goa #incredibleindia #native #tourism #goatourism #travelblogger #instagood #foollowforfollow #like4me #followforshoutout #likeforfollow #followforlike #vacation #holida #view #pickmygoapic #my_goa #sogoa #onlygoa #goanlife #Goanescape #goadiaries #goavibe #indiapictures #landscape #activities #whattodogoa #chillout #chilling #chull #holiday #goa_for_you #fun #weekend (at Goa)
