Listening to the fireside chat with Tiffany Pham and Rebecca Minkoff. Very engaging.
The reason why the People vs. OJ was the case of the century wasn’t because OJ Simpson was some hot shot football player—who still holds records that other distinguished players have yet to beat—but because every issue that took place in the 1900s found its way into that courtroom: racism, sexism, classism, domestic violence, interracial relationships, and the protection of white women in America. I’m sure in a deeper discussion many more issues could be brought to light, however, this article is mostly about my fascination with the way the producers of the temporary series were able to fit all of that into just ten episodes.
