Length and Depth | Haskell Pillars Syrah 2013, with complexity and delicacy, is a treasure to behold. With white pepper, violets and plums on the nose, this Stellenbosch Syrah reveals restraint, as it continues to age beautifully. Alongside the Illimis Cinsault 2016, this flight was a study in length. Like a violin note that held through the night air, this was quite a pair. I loved how the Darling fruit gave way to a Cinsault that revealed notes of cherry, thyme and candy floss on the nose.
