Rq rant: I rly hate how lazy Kagami became with writing. Bad plot twist after bad plot twist. Bro read too many Ons headcanons on twitter about his characters. And kudos to you if you are able to read my word salad cause no clue if it makes sense. 🫶🤭

(Ferid has proven he is more than intelligent and thinks more than 5 steps ahead and y'all wanna tell me this man would not think about if people could turn his body on command 💀💀?? What??)

Like idk I get that Kagami could play on the "ferid sometimes lets his "pride" get the better of him like in season 1 where he didn't see the counter attack after Guren told shinya to shoot at him! It's him actually working with Guren and giving him the upper hand!!". Later it did turn out that was on purpose ig so I hope Kagami uses this new information to do so?? But that also doesn't make sense cause ferid was surprised by that move and not planned. So ig good on Guren/ mahiru to install a dog leash in ferids body but ferid would have seen that from a mile away that there's a possibility his body could be weaponised. The way Kagami wrote ferid before, in the light novel ferid knew his spiel. It just feels a lazy way of writing a literal genius character make a mistake. Like yeah Geniuses can make a dumb mistake but there's a difference where this mistake is a plot device versus this is mistake is going to have consequences and ferid will work his way around it cleverly. The problem I have is he knows how to write characters and intelligent ones at that but man.

Gonna refer back to my opinion that OnS should have been a written series not a manga. Just imagine how well he could explain the characters in his words instead of the fanbase having to glue together what he means or doubt his writing. That's the problem with manga though. It can become choppy real quick in comparison to a novel which can take years to write. If Kagami just took his time with OnS I think he could express and fill plot holes so much more. He could actually think about them, how much sense it makes, what other factors could affect the plot hole or this line of story.

Seraph of the End RANT

This is a rant/kinda theory post about Mahiru’s character and her relationship with Guren bc while rereading some of the manga, rewatching the anime, and just looking back at some posts I have some shit to say

First of all, I have some MAJOR problems with Mahiru’s character. Like M A J O R probelms

I’m also extremely upset because she had so much potential to be one of the best characters in the series but ya know we can’t have nice things.

First of all her character is so misogynistic. She acts like she can’t do anything without her ✨man✨

She acts like she needs Guren for everything and like she’s weak without him when she isn’t. Mahiru isn’t weak at all. She is strong but she acts like she is helpless without Guren which is a big lie. She was able to function without him for ten years.

She was able to do a LOT without him but nope.

✨Now lets look back a bit to when Mahiru and Guren first meet✨

I’m sorry but what actual 5 year old is that obsessed with love and that obsessed with a boy. 5 year olds love a new thing every minute and it’s unrealistic that a 5 year old would be as set as Mahiru was on a boy that they just met. Its also unrealistic that said 5 year old would remember said boy and still be in love with them for TEN YEARS after meeting them.

Mahiru kinda acts like the Bella Swan from Twilight but she’s the crazy vampire and the overly obsessed one while Guren just wants to live his life.

Now her actions... good god where to begin

Well she manipulates Guren, lets her family use him as their punching bag, puts a fucking demon in him, AND THEN KILLS HIS FRIENDS IN FRONT OF HIM

In short, what the fuck Mahiru?

Like I think killing his friends after already screwing with his emotions like crazy is crossing a line

And Guren and Mahiru’s relationship was and is the definition of toxic. There was nothing good about their relationship. It wasn’t wholesome in any way. Being manipulated in a relationship isn’t good or wholesome in any way and that relationship was all manipulation and crazy.

I hate Mahiru’s character now, maybe even more so. She’s kinda an ass (hardcore an ass). She keeps manipulating Guren and twisting him to do everything she wants him to do which again, is not healthy. Especially for Guren

Guren’s mental health is probably all sorts of fucked up and its all her fault. Like seriously, think about it. Think about all the manipulation, how she pushed him away from his friends, killed his friends, now he can’t get close to his friends, has to experiment on the people he loves, BECOMES A DEMON FOR CHRIST SAKE.

And why? She made him. Technically he had a choice, but in reality, she is making him and using his friends as hostages because they don’t have a lot of time left and Guren has to perform the spell again and save everyone before its too late. But he has to do it right this time so the world doesn’t end, so that there isn’t a time limit for his friends. And even then, he will bear the biggest cross if he comes out of this alive. He will bear the biggest secret.

Why?

Mahiru killed his friends. The friends he couldn’t live without. The friends he arguably loved FAR more than he ever loved her.

Like you cannot tell me that Guren didn’t love his friends more than Mahiru. Especially Shinya. Then again can you blame him? Shinya just wanted to make sure he was okay, sane, and genuinely looked up to Guren and cared about him.

Mahiru definitely didn’t truly care about Guren considering what she did to him out of HER OWN FREE WILL.

✨Do I think Guren still loves Mahiru?✨

Oh god no. I could argue that he never really felt actual love for her but tea ☕️

As of right now? He definitely doesn’t love her. I mean the man is 24 in the series rn and she’s a whiny 16 year old demon that has fucked him over one too many times. If he still loved her he would have lost ALL of his sanity (which he hasn’t lets be honest)

He also basically dismisses her whenever it comes to her trying to be “affectionate” which is 100% her playing with him and manipulating him. He acts like he’s trying to detach himself from her in the best ways he can whenever she isn’t forcing him to do what she says aka become a demon.

In fact I think that he genuinely hates working with her. I mean the things she is making him to can and will break him. And she knows that. Yet she continues to push and push and push until theres nothing left of Guren to repair. His heart is beyond broken and damaged and I cannot imagine living a day in his shoes.

I’ve already written a post on if Guren wants to resurrect Mahiru and I’ve already stated that I don’t think he exactly wants that to happen especially if the 100% old Mahiru isn’t back and even then that’s not a good Mahiru and even then there’s still the fact that she’s stuck in his cursed gear and that she is a demon.

Can’t see that ever working in her favor tbh and if it does thats the biggest plothole in the whole series and is major bullshit.

Also, if Guren and Mahiru ever somehow get back together thats a) extremely toxic for him and b) unrealistic in every way considering the bad blood that 100% should be between them

In summary I have an extreme dislike for Mahiru and her character and I hope to god that Guren can escape her somehow

I feel like everyone missed the point of my post... Sure, Yuu has issues, but that doesn’t take the responsibility of his actions away from him.

The biggest threat towards his safety isn’t Guren, or Ferid, or the JIDA, or vampires, or even God.

It’s himself. His recklessness. His trauma that renders him incapable of listening to the voice of reason in favor of obeying Guren over all else. His obsession with his unhealthy definition of family, as if it meant ignoring your own well being and how your beloved family feels about your actions.

That’s not cute. It’s annoying.

There are no “good” characters in Seraph of the End. Like seriously theres none.

No character is walking a path of light in the series.

Mika isn’t a “good” character

Yuichiro isn’t a “good” character

Mitusba, Shinoa, Kimizuki, Youchi, none of them are “good” characters

There also aren’t what we would say completely evil characters at least very very very few of them

Guren is not evil

Guren’s squad is not evil

Hell even the Hiragi’s stuck up asses aren’t necessarily evil

All of these characters share the same goal and thats to save the world which in retrospect, is not an evil goal

They are all just going about it differently or hell not even truly focusing on saving the world at all in the current events of the manga

Ex: Yu is dead set on saving Mika and his family and bringing them back to life even though theres not a 100% guarantee that a) they will have their full lives and b) the world won’t end again

And yes

There is a chance for the spell to go wrong and for the world to end yet again and there will always be that chance. It’s something we don’t want to assume to happen but it can still happen especially if a certain character(s) (Guren and Mahiru’s) plan doesn’t go well...to plan

And yes

Everything is currently relying on a 16 year old pesky ghost girl and a fuck boy feel fear

So yeah there are no good characters in Seraph and honestly the only character that you can argue is completely evil is Shikama Doji and probably Saito and even then you can still make arguments that they aren’t completely evil

The main characters share the same exact goal aka save the world its just that some of them are taking dirtier methods to do it (Guren)

And guess what

Those characters HAVE to take dirtier methods to do it. The world ending did not happen cleanly, the spell was not clean, everything about it was and is messy as hell so yeah cleaning things up especially after a catastrophe like that, will be even messier. Its very easy to catalyst something but almost impossible to make things reverse

Like seriously the way to fix this was never going to be simple. Steps had to be taken and sacrificies had to be made but the fandom hates the fact that Guren and the Hiragi’s are the ones taking them

Like goddamn I hate the Hiragis (especially Mahiru) but I also know that yeah this shit has to be fixed somehow, they have the power and the means to do it, and its going to be messy as hell

Thats the whole fucking point of Seraph

This is not a manga where everything is crystal clear. There’s not an easy way to fix things

And I know for a fact that if it was Shinoa squad taking the steps to fix this shit you guys would be so damn supportive but because it isn’t your little golden boy and his golden best friends you’re mad

Like goddamn calm yourselves because they don’t have the fucking power to fix the whole mess and are going to end up trying to HELP Guren fix the whole mess

So stop shitting on some characters for doing what they have to do in order to fix this whole mess (believe me I doubt they want to take these steps ESPECIALLY Guren)

Okay yeah there is a lot of MikaYuu in the latest chapter but- CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT HOW THE HUMANS TORTURED KIMIZUKI'S SISTER AND FORCIBLY TURN HER INTO A SERAPH?! a Seraph is a angel with more than one wing. THIS IS NOT OKAY NON NEIN THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT A SICK GIRL OKAY THIS PROVES IT MIKA IS RIGHT Based on my OnS theory months ago... I hereby conclude that: THE HUMANS ARE THE BAD GUYS (Fallen angels dressed in black) THE VAMPIRES ARE THE GOOD GUYS (The not fallen angels dressed in white) The reason why Vampires kill and despise humans and stuff is so that they can prevent the humans from continuing their "experiment" and they use the humans as livestock is to prevent themselves from becoming demons and get USED by the humans SUCH A PLOT TWIST YO SOMETIMES IN ANIME, THE HUMANS HAVE TO BE THE BAD GUYS FOR ONCE AND THAT IS ONS I'm on the Vampire's side GUREN WILL BECOME A VAMPIRE BECAUSE HE ACTUALLY PLANS TO DESTROY THE HIRAGI FAMILY THAT IS CAUSING ALL OF THIS SH*TTTTT No one is stopping me BYE YALL
