- The day after his wife leaves him he stays at home with Jonghyun. They go to the nice park about 15 minutes drive from their apartment, but that’s it. He forgets about the papers he has to sign and take downtown and the fact his wife left him, and just focus on Jonghyun.
-He finally fills the papers out where he needs to and takes them in about a week after she leaves. Some part of him wanted to believe that she’d change her mind and come home, but he knows her well enough that if she doesn’t change her mind soon after she does something, she doesn’t regret doing it.
- He finds a job at the downtown library not too far away from his school. It’s open until 9 every night, so once his classes end at 2, he works there. And the head librarian doesn’t mind when he has to bring Jonghyun with him.
- Jonghyun usually takes a nap during the break Jinki has between his 2 blocks of classes. Jinki uses that block to gets some extra money by tutoring in the school’s library so, he finds a quiet corner, and Jonghyun sleeps on the other half of the couch Jinki found and tugged a table to, with his head on his dad’s thigh, while Jinki tutors.
- Jonghyun needs his bedroom door open and to hear Jinki whenever he goes to sleep. Jinki found it out when he was reading a book quietly and he hears his little boy screaming for him. Of course this is after months of sleeping with his dad because he’s still afraid he’s going to leave him too.
- Jinki tries very hard to make sure Jonghyun doesn’t know how he’s feeling, but there are nights were he’s sitting out on the couch, a small glass of whiskey swirling as he moves his wrist and just before he’s about to drink it Jonghyun is muttering Daddy don’t cry, and comes climb up and snuggles him. The whiskey doesn’t get drunk.
- When Jinki brings Taeyeon home Jonghyun is very confused. He thought she would be there for a couple days and the go back home, but Jinki just chuckles and kisses his tiny forehead like no little butt this is her home, she’s not going anywhere. And Jonghyun’s like !!! why does she get to sleep with you? Jinki just smiles like Baby she cries and you don’t need to be affected by me getting up all the time to get her. Jjong’s like like oh...
- Getting her to go to sleep was so hard for Jinki to figure out to do it. But then while holding her close he yells for Jonghyun to get him something and the vibrations of his voice make her sobs turn into little whimpers. So he talks to he r and or sings while he puts her down, and he has a little bear he bought that he had his heart beat recorded into it so she holds that and she can feel it and sleeps pretty well.
- Jonghyun is almost ten when Jinki has enough money saved up with his new job that he gets after graduating and he’s able to buy a house. Where both his kids have their own room, when for the last 5 of so they had been sharing. That first night they are settled Jinki stares up at his ceiling and just makes a noise as he starts crying because he feels like he finally made it.
- Jonghyun meets Minho his junior year of high-school when Minho is the freshman he runs into in a rush to get to Taeyeon’s school before she’s let out. And while he says he’s sorry and makes sure Minho’s on his feet before he rushes off, the next day he finds him in school and tells him how sorry he is and giving him one of his father’s huge cupcakes he makes with Taeyeon. And they are friends for a good half a school year, until over christmas break when he’s over Jonghyun’s for dinner and playing games they kiss and Jinki walks in like O.O and grabs taeyeon and turns around like uh we shouldn’t go in there. Jonghyun is asexual but he’s okay with kisses among other things.
- Taeyeon is 10 when she meets Gwiboon, Gwiboon’s parents are both deaf, and she’s out with her grandma when Taeyeon get’s separated from her dad and brother, and while by then she’s been going to voice therapy she’s not comfortable with talking to just anyone yet and Gwiboon is sweet and soft and helps her find her dad. They have an inseparable friendship after that. She’s 15 when she goes to her dad scared out of her wits that he will be angry at her when she says she thinks she’s in love with her best friend, but he could never be angry at her for being who she is, and he helps her through her thoughts until she’s comfortable with her decision to tell Gwiboon how she feels.
-When Jonghyun is 11 and Taeyeon is 8 when Jinki meets Jessica. He’s not really looking to date anyone at that time, but he’s out with Taeyeon looking for clothes and apparently his opinion on what’s cute is flawed. Jessica works for the store they’re in and they talk while Taeyeon is trying on things. She rings them out and like normal they ask for the phone number, and Jinki takes a chance and says you can use that for personal use too Miss. But after dating for about 3 years, she finally gets the fashion break she’s been working to, and he’s never been one to hold someone back and kisses her one last time and tells her to go. she comes back like 5 years later but hahaha shh and they date until he get’s the courage and gets on one knee.

I love the fact that when Jessica sings her little part right before Jinki sings his in the bridge in One Year Later she smiles at him. She’s always smiling at him as he sings with her and I’m just.. i have a lot of feels.
ooooh, ask me this a couple months ago, my answer would've been jongyu. but i really love jessica lately and i really love jinki lately. (like more than usual) so onsica <3
