Cold Hands, Warm Heart
Deceit was sitting on the couch in the dark commons, half curled up against the arm of the couch and writing. His pencil made neat yet fanciful loops and curls of the letters as he quietly focused. A thousand words to write and hundreds more.
The other dark sides were doing something, though he wasn’t entirely sure what. They were off in their rooms, reveling in solitude until they decided to socialize. He didn’t mind the quiet, broken only by the stream of background noise from the tv and the sound of his pencil writing on the paper.
“What’re you doing?” Leon’s voice broke the silence, he startled just a little, pencil making a small abrupt mark. Leon giggled. “Sorry if I startled you.”
He smiled warmly, setting the pencil and notebook down to turn and look at the other side. Leon walked over, reaching out with his hands as Deceit turned fully. “How was the light commons?”
Leon sat down on Deceit’s lap, straddling him and grinning. “It was nice, Patton made some honey cookies and Virgil showed my some Disney movies. I’m glad the darker parts aren’t as lost on him as they are the others, but I don’t think they’re that dark!”
Deceit chuckled, bringing his hands up to caress Leon’s cheeks before lightly resting on his neck. “Really?”
Leon shivered at the touch, moving his own hands to take Deceit’s in each and lace their fingers, pushing their hands back against Deceit’s chest as he looked at them. “Why are your hands so cold? I have some theories.”
Deceit let out a short snicker at that. “Their as cold as my heart dear,” he teased. Leon frowned.
“You’re cold blooded, right? Like a snake? That’s cool! But your heart isn’t cold.”
“If it’s pumping cold blood, can it be anything else?” Leon tightened his grip on his hands, before loosening it again. A thoughtful look came on his face.
“Well, you know what they say,” He hummed, “Cold hands, warm heart. So I guess your heart isn’t cold.”
Deceit chuckled, pulling their hands up to kiss Leon’s. “Warm heart seems like a fitting name for you.” Leon unclasped their hands, wrapping his arms around Deceit’s neck and giggling.
“Guess that works, cold hands,” He joked back, Deceit rolled his eyes. Leon sighed contently, leaning in to give Deceit a peck on the lips before turning to lay his side against Dee’s chest, arms moving as they shifted slightly, one around Leon and the other resting on his chest, their fingers laced together again.
“Hey Dee,”
“Yes, my heart?”
Leon giggled, “I love you and your hands.”
“I know you know you made an innuendo, and I’m half-offended you ruined the moment for it.”
Leon giggled again, “Gonna kiss me quiet?”
“Absolutely.”
