She wasn’t one to go clubbing much, but she had a deal with her very outgoing friends that she’d accompany them without complaining or trying to get out of it at least two times a month. And she was grateful that they took her to places that actually played songs, with lyrics, a start and an ending, not random noises that came with epilepsy inducing light shows.
Alice had seen this young man a couple of times before. A tall blond man with a very charming smile that stood out from the other guys by the elegance with which he not only dressed himself in, but also carried in his very stance and gait. There was a gentlemanly air to him whenever he talked to one of her friends at the bar, pressing kisses to their hands and such, offering them sweet compliments and only walking away after a bow that was almost showman-like.
They’d never had a chance to talk as she usually stayed either to the side actually enjoying the music or briefly dancing with her friends in a tight group. But that night, the charming stranger walked straight to her without ever looking away from her eyes. He took her hand, brushed his lips against its back and tugged her away from the other girls without a word.
There was no helping the smile that took over her lips at the sight of his surprise upon seeing that she could hold her own on the dance floor, and she nearly chuckled at his look of excitement at finding a challenge.
Regardless of the type of the song they were dancing to, the young man held her close, not letting anyone else claim her or even join them. One of his strong hands pressed to the small of her back and the other held her own as they mixed and matched modern and classic dance moves to the intoxicating beat, tangling themselves only to swirl free effortlessly.
