plenty of conversations were being held on the marketplace just a moment ago, but they all simultaneously died down as all eyes wandered towards the slowly approaching pirate ship that made it´s way through the fog.

an ominous, bad omen of a ship, huge and foreboding.

it´s mast was towering above, bearing a truly horrific detail.

there were men tied to the mast, gaping holes where their eyes used to be and their expressions twisted into silent screams. a few of them were missing arms and legs and all of them were skinned and mangled in such a horrific fashion that one couldn´t bear to look at it for too long.

with a loud thump, a plank hit the pier and a large man, presumably the captain, made his way off the ship. every step of his heavy boots was breaking the dead silence on the harbor, with the subtle clinking of his sword accompanying it.

he didn´t say a word, nor did he look at any of the clearly distraught people that were hiding away. his captain´s hat was tilted forward in such a way that it cast a shadow over his face, making it impossible for anyone to tell what his motives were.

eventually, he stomped a single foot on the ground, making his men follow him off the ship. they too didn´t say a word.

they were heading off in a perfectly organized group. a group that was making everyone they walked past shiver with fear.

and they didn´t even need to move a muscle to accomplish that.
