I don't know why this bunch of weirdos (affectionate) has such a hold on my brain - well, maybe I do know why. It's because I'm a weirdo too - but I thank Halazia every day for my tumblr mutuals for introducing me to them.

god i wish i knew. i do know that i can say without irony that every time i brush my teeth i think of hongjoong for some reason. because i'm like well that man's teeth are perfect. i have to beat him. he cannot best me. i have to be two steps ahead of him at all times. he will not outlast me.

Have you ever thought about...like how much trauma Leo probably has???

Like he's been to I think six foster homes and ran away from all of them. And i'd be willing to be my knowledge of hoo that some of those were....not so good, if you catch my drift.

Idk just something to think about :)

Y'know what, I'm not gonna make a habit of a ton of pjo content, but like.

couple thoughts on this.

Leo is, and always has been, severely ADHD. It's a constant muddled movement. However. If you're an idiot of an adult, that's about the worst thing to get in a kid. Small? Bad enough. Twitchy? Even worse.

More than that, he's confident, willing to stick up for himself, sharp, a pushy, sassy, rude little kid. He's spunky, quick-thinking, and he's an entire character. He doesn't take crap, when he starts out, won't sit down, won't listen without reasons.

People like to try and pound that out of kids. Especially if they don't care about him.

First foster home was fine. Just didn't care about him. Second wasn't too bad. There just wasn't enough space, and some lady came and kicked them all out to different places.

Next ones were all garbage. And they only got worse as time went on.

So, by the time he's on that bus at the reform summer camp, going to see the grand canyon, he's just. Sick at heart. He's had so many things about himself cut out, replaced, thrown around, shuffled, repurposed and hidden, that he's kind of messed up in the head.

Is that the reason he's so afraid of being hated? That he thinks his actions will ruin everything and that no one's going to really like him and covers it up with a "psh, of course you do"? Probably. When you've been torn down for things you can't control, for every little element of who you are, you grab a couple things from a burning pile, and run for it.

It's why Calypso kind of just... makes sense to him. She's angry about his existence. And she just. Makes sense. So he can push her buttons and watch how she reacts. She makes sense.

Which makes it all the more startling when she loves him back. Didn't expect that, as big of a game as he talked. How could he promise anything but to come back?
