So a couple of discord friends and I had a chat about what Liir and Trism's clothes would look like

What we agree on:

Liir dresses more simply

Liir wears black/earthy colors

Liir wears flowy over stiff fabrics

Trism is fabulous and likes fashion

Trism makes sure he always looks hot

What we don't agree on:

Does Liir have good enough sewing skills to make nice clothes for himself???

HOW does young Trism show off his hotness???:

I suggested that he would wear nice perfume and would stay covered up. His tailored clothes would just fit well enough to show his curves. He doesn't show much skin 'cause he gives me social climber vibes and wants to fit in with the more conservative upper classes

Trism would show relatively more skin like hook from "once upon a time" (not necessarily the same outfit, just the skin exposure)

The idea that Trism wears low-cut tops 'cause he has nice tits is amusing to me NGL

Lastly, how does Trism dress when he's older after the war?:

Stick to his uniform, assuming he still has a job in the military.

If he doesn't, he wears relatively more covered up high collar clothes that hide his body 'cause the war fucked him up and he has scars he probably doesn't wanna show the world

As for me, I imagine older Trism DOESN'T have a job in the military and he decided to go back to his roots clothing-wise. He wears comfortable yet tailored clothes fit for a well-off farmer. Loose but still collared linen/cotton shirts with denim pants and leather boots.

Kinda like this, but nicer and it would be made for leisure and not work

Sometimes, I wonder why Maguire chose to hurt Liir so much

He grew up neglected

Got bullied and almost drowned

then got orphaned

was smacked around by dragons

got raped

became a fugitive

got tortured

his lover dumped him

he got turned into an elephant

his wife divorced him

his daughter left him

his goose friend left him

ended up alone in the middle of nowhere

Maguire made an entire grocery list of suffering for this poor man and by the end of his story, he ends up sad and lonely, similar to how he was at the start of his life.

At least we get a hopeful ending where Liir takes the initiative to write his treatise, showing that after all that's happened, he's finally ready to share his ideas to the world.
