Introducing the Alts: Aurelia
Born into House Corvinus, a modest family of the Garlean upper class, Aurelia initially slipped under the radar of wider society until an incident brought her to public attention at the age of five. A former employee of House Corvinus made public allegations that she was a cursed child, the former employee claimed that Aurelia showed signs of being able to manipulate aether... Something that should be impossible for a Garlean child. House Corvinus was quick to dismiss the rumours as the slanderous ramblings of a disgruntled former servant, but the allegations would continue to plague the House and Aurelia. The matter wasn't helped by Aurelia's general poor health throughout her childhood and teenage years. She was long plagued by night terrors and periods of sudden headaches and fainting. One notable instance of Aurelia suddenly fainting happened during a visit by the late Emperor Solus to the Magitek Academy. No physical reason for her ill health has ever been found despite examinations by many of Garlemald's top chirurgeons. This inexplicable ailment, coupled with the rumours surrounding her since her childhood have overshadowed her talents with Magitek and while she was able to successfully graduate from the Magitek Academy, she was relegated to a field engineering role in the Imperial Army.
She retained that position until the days surrounding the Battle of Carteneau at which point she was listed as missing in action and after two years was presumed dead. Alongside the other Garleans lost in the battle she was lauded as a hero. However, in recent days reports from Garlean agents in Eorzea have brought tales of a woman matching Aurelia's description working in company with the denizens of Eorzea and the defector Cid Garlond. The news that the youngest daughter of House Corvinus has betrayed her homeland and taken up with Garlemald's enemies has shaken House Corvinus and damaged their prestige in Garlemald's society.
What lies ahead for Aurelia Corvinus is hard to say... But as forces mass for another dust up between Eorzea and Garlemald it's certain that Aurelia will play a role.
