[FUCK I'M HERE I'M SO FUCKING SORRY IT'S STILL APRIL FOOLS DAY IN CALIFORNIA]

*ITS NEXUS' BIRTHDAY!!! AND EVERYONE'S MADE IT SOMETHING SPECIAL!!!*

*Nova brings Nexus into one of the more popular lounges where they're surprised with a huge cake, courtesy of Dunite and the chefs, of whichever flavor Nexus has found their body to have the most positive reaction to. Nova and Icia both explain the concept of "birthdays" and "birthday parties" to Nexus, and Ode performs a small string quartet rendition of "Happy Birthday" (begrudgingly. They asked to do a different song. Nova said no. Lol.)*

*Samuel, of course, is also there and clearly had a hand in helping decorate. Slyn sits on Icia's shoulder with his stupid happy toothless smile.*

*Wow. A lot of people really showed up for Nexus.*

they've gotten better at the whole feigning emotion thing, to the point its almost hard to tell they dont actually feel any. It's still a very far ways away from being human but its close enough where its not uncanny anymore.

Although the party and the surprise seem to elicit proper shock. It never seemed to cross their mind that these people would actually care for them enough to do something like this. In fact they almost saw this day as a bad omen with the way they arrived and the slight trauma it seemed to bring back, not a birthday.

The cake is vanilla, as they had no opinion on cake flavor. As they eat the cake they stop to think about it all, and a sort of warmth surges inside them. It's not an emotion, at least they dont think it is but it is a nice warmth, a comforting warmth they have nova to thank for.

A place they belong that they have nova to thank for.

they still don't hug back, but it's still because they still feel untrusted to a degree and don't want any misunderstandings.

while it is true that I do not feel human emotions I can still understand them and recognize when they are being presented to me. and I have seen and recognized people being kind to me.
