Modern AU hijinks

Ignis the typa guy to wear Hawaiian shirts all the time.

Hana wears preppy clothes/ classy/ cute, generally the most fashionable bc her teacher taught her well.

Enid is the nonbinary person who’s always wearing hoodies to hide their dysphoria.

Tank’s clothes aren’t different at all actually 😭 He’s mechanic core

Alope is either wearing the same clothes as Ignis and saying “It’s street wear!” (lesbian induced dad clothes itis) OR actual street wear (crop top, low baggy pants, g-string exposed on her back) and pretending it’s the same as the first.

Hana wants to dress up her guild really badly bc she doesn’t want to be seen around unfashionable people. Which is funny bc Tank and Alope are very fashionable and may just dress terribly to piss Hana off.

I mostly finish the happy Hana and Alope drawings, but they are at their core kind of tragic and border hope and despair. Some of the more somber thumbnails I haven’t posted (Not here) it but F it….

Ofc this is late game. The first several months they are really awkward. Also, Hana struggles with admitting she and Alope are close since she’s never had many future visions of her. Vs Alope who senses Hana is anxious and chooses not to advance things to not pressure her.

Alope would really love to be giddy about it, but Hana’s dread is contagious and as a result, Alope’s quiet and somewhat defensive of her instead. See the first thumbnail comic vs the second. They try (?) to hide their feelings from the guild but. The guild isn't dumb. They say the lines in the template speech bubbles about 3rd stratum and the guild goes 🤔🤨

I was really stuck on who was the Madoka and who was the Homura on this… But in the end… Alope is the one who becomes more of a concept Hana would try to bend the future to save.

I think Alope would think she was homura so bad, but any time she tries to save Hana She hurts Hana more, it’s at Alope’s own detriment. Like the times Madoka saved Homura, how it was usually at Madoka’s own expense. Homura risked everything for Madoka, just for her to accidentally throw it away.

This also Alope meme that I made making fun of her was initially a Madoka one. So. Madoka coded.

The reverse could be true if I jump thru hoops. Hana is a concept for Alope too. The future. And she scares Alope at first, but then she gives her genuine hope that she has one someday. Alope thinks that keeping Hana around is like a good luck charm.

But Hana is just such a better Homura bc even if Hana is Alope’s light, Alope does not know that Hana has trouble reciprocating her feelings because Alope constantly is a source of dread and light for Hana. Hana does not know if she CAN save Alope. And I think that perfectly parallels Homura’s hope/despair about Madoka. Can she save her? If she does what if Madoka/Alope undoes it all?

They're described as rivals... But it really stems from the idea they have to save the other. And I think that's the cutest, but most doomed thing about them.
