These things moved me when I turned my back. Now I return with open hands. I found light that lead me to the shrine where children sang and pilgrims mourned. I was lost but not alone. From a distance they come alive. Sleepwalking across the plains. No answers were found here. Seeking shelter in her embrace. Down on sore knees. Erase and begin. Under my eyelids, come forth light.

A summer school to educate and become healthy, or something in that thought process. In Oostduinkerke.

That is what my mom repeats every time we pass it in the car. Besides the fact that my aunt used to work here, that was after its summer school years. I think my mom sees this building as one of remnants of her youth. As the buildings is quite iconic and very clear visible from her village and hasn’t had any significant changes.
