DEAD BEAT ALLEGATIONS. ANNIHILATED.

He's watched over Luffy since the East Blue, the beginning of the story, we knew this. But this right here, for me at least, puts things in perspective.

Dragon is the most wanted man in the world. We know this. Bounties in the One Piece world don't dictate power level - they dictate how much of a threat one is to the World Government - and Monkey D. Dragon, leader of the Revolutionaries that's trying to overthrow them and basically wants quite literally everything opposite of what the Celestial Dragon's want, so yeah of course he's the world's most wanted, even above the fucking Yonko. He's been working on this revolution for fucking thirty years. Thirty. Way before Luffy was born, but still he had Luffy in whatever fucking circumstance that went on with Luffy's mom and as we clearly fucking see from this flashback with Kuma and Bonney the WG is absolutely fucking filthy and would absolutely make Luffy a target if they knew about him when he was younger to use against Dragon - and Dragon says it himself in the panel shown above! A child is a parent's weak spot and with that you absolutely know if it came to it and he were put in that position, thirty years of revolution he would give up entirely if it meant for his son's wellbeing. So he distanced himself for Luffy's own safety, left him in the hands of Garp to raise. It's not like he could just erase decades of revolutionary work - as the revolution's head also - and lived peacefully with his son, not with fucking Cipher Pol agents could be God knows where and show up at any time in moments notice when that get even the faintest hint of something. If they did you know CP9 would've pulled up on foosha or whenever Dragon would take him and Luffy would've probably been dead before he could even possibly dreaming of becoming a pirate. Again, son of the most wanted man in the world.

But, luckily it never came to that and Luffy grew up and now the fucking Sun God and a Yonko - he absolutely doesn't need his dad's help and it's clear now that Dragon doesn't want to get in Luffy's way of achieving his own goals. Yeah they could've absolutely have met and allied at this point, making both of their forces way stronger but Dragon chooses not too, continuing to let his son do his own thing and I'm sure he'll be awaiting for him by the end of all things.

Anyway, Dragon, you're on my Okay list for now until we get you a proper flashback 👍
