“I just wish you would have told me sooner, rather then fifteen minutes before she had to be picked up. We’ll see you whenever you get home tonight, love you too.” The redhead hung up the phone, and slipped it into her pocket. “I need you close for me tonight, I have to pick up Grace. Since Lauren is on a stakeout or something.” She loved, Lauren she did but she hated her job. But she understood how important it was to the other woman. Lauren was great, she always had been since the day they meant. Even with Emma being three months pregnant at the time, Adrian had bailed. Leaving Between the Lines, Emma made her way to the preschool to pick up her daughter. Once she got there, she moved inside. First she panicked cause she didn’t see anyone, but she heard a voice and followed it to the classroom. Raising her hand, she stopped herself from knocking. Watching the other woman with Grace, she couldn’t help but smile a little bit. “Mommy!” The little girl squealed and stopped coloring to run into Emma’s arms who had bent down at this point to pick her up and hug her close. Her attention going to the blonde. “I’m so sorry for being late. Lauren was suppose to pick her up, and she’s busy on a case.” Her attention went to Grace again. “Come on, lets get your stuff. I’m sure, Mrs. Matthews wants to get home.”
